Milíčov is identifiable by its almost perfectly circular village layout. The settlement’s origins probably date back to the 13th century. The village square also contributes to its historic character: it is designated as an ensemble of buildings of local importance. This brings together two different scales of local history—the shape of the village as a whole and the architectural ensemble around the village square. This offers two perspectives when planning a trip: you can understand Milíčov through its distinctive settlement pattern while also considering individual monuments as specific points of interest.

Boží muka and the Boundary Stone

The stone Boží muka monument at the crossroads towards Hojkov has been registered as a protected cultural monument since 3 May 1958. North of Milíčov, beside a farm track towards Jankov, stands the protected boundary stone. Its sturdy rectangular stele has rounded upper corners; the front bears a raised relief of a paw cross. Comparison with similar examples suggests that the boundary stone dates from the late Middle Ages or the early modern period. The two monuments can be considered according to different features: the registration date of the Boží muka is precise, while the boundary stone is notable for its shape, paw cross and cautious dating. The Milíčovská lípa was first designated on 3 May 1984.

Na Oklice Nature Reserve and the Landscape around Nad Svitákem

Na Oklice Nature Reserve is in the Vysočina Region, in the Jihlava District, within the municipality of Milíčov and the cadastral area of Milíčov u Jihlavy. It protects near-natural transitional mires, montane Nardus grasslands, wet meadows with cabbage thistle, and vegetation resembling secondary montane heathland, with scattered woody plants. The protected habitats also include stands containing significant plant and animal species. The contrast between transitional mire, Nardus grassland, wet meadow and heath-like vegetation shows that the protected area comprises a mosaic of different habitat types.

At Nad Svitákem, another mosaic can be found in the floodplain of the Milíčovský potok: intact transitional mires, wet purple moor-grass or other wet meadows, and montane Nardus grasslands with significant and specially protected species. The Milíčovský potok rises directly in Milíčov. The floodplain setting is a distinct point of comparison with Na Oklice: at Nad Svitákem, the stream’s floodplain is explicitly part of the location’s character.
