Marked trails, views across the Nedvědička Valley towards Bor, and the Church of Saint Martin shape the ways to explore Věžná. There is also the SK Věžná ski lift: it is illuminated for evening skiing, but its actual operation depends on snow and seasonal conditions.
Hiking Trails and Navigation
Two hiking routes start at Věžná railway station. The blue-marked trail climbs in the direction of Střítež. The route “Věžná railway station – Věžná – Smrček – Pernštejn – Nedvědice” leads from there via Věžná, Smrček, and Pernštejn to Nedvědice. The blue trail climbs towards Střítež; the route as listed runs via Věžná, Smrček, and Pernštejn and ends in Nedvědice. When choosing a hike, this distinction helps you keep your intended destination in mind instead of reading both descriptions as a single route.
A yellow-marked hiking trail also runs above Věžná, passing a wayside cross and offering views across the Nedvědička Valley towards Bor. The tourist signpost stands in the village square, at a crossroads of the main roads. Check trail conditions and markings before setting out.
Valley and Views
Věžná lies in the valley of a stream that flows into the Nedvědička from the left. This is a different landscape feature from the view along the yellow trail: the village is situated by the stream, while the view extends across the Nedvědička Valley towards Bor. The village’s location and the view thus show different aspects of the landscape, which can be distinguished when finding your way around.
The Church of Saint Martin
The Church of Saint Martin stands on a hillside above Věžná. It was built of stone in the 16th century and is designated a cultural monument. Inside is a life-size depiction of Christ crucified. The church brings together its position above the village, its historic construction, and a specific image in the church interior.
A contribution of CZK 69,000 for the church’s restoration is recorded for 2015. The two dates refer to different periods: the 16th century marks its construction, while 2015 refers to the restoration contribution. This makes it possible to distinguish the building’s construction date from its later restoration as separate aspects of the church’s history.
Evening Skiing and Seasonal Conditions
The SK Věžná ski lift is illuminated for evening skiing. The lighting is a feature of the facility, but its actual operation depends on snow and seasonal conditions. If you are planning to ski in the evening, take this seasonal caveat into account and check conditions for the period in question.
