Rovečné offers a range of options for your stay: architectural and local history, a marked route to Horní les, and a nature swimming pool used in summer. If you are looking for accommodation in Rovečné, these themes may influence your decision: Are you mainly interested in historic buildings, would you like to plan time for a walk through the countryside, or would you like to use the swimming pool in summer?

Churches and history

St Martin's Church is a single-nave Baroque building. Its façade tower was built in 1721. The church bell, however, dates back to 1547, making it considerably older than the tower. The two dates give a concrete impression of how the history of a building can encompass different periods.

The complex of St Martin's Church, including the cemetery, cemetery wall and surrounding lime trees, is protected as a cultural monument. The protection therefore covers not only the church building but also the components explicitly associated with the ensemble. This connection between the building and its surroundings is an important aspect of Rovečné's cultural history.

The Protestant church has a different building history: construction began in 1897, and it was completed within 15 months. The organ was supplied by the Tuček company from Kutná Hora and is still in use today. The monument to those who fell in the First World War is another part of the town's history; it was ceremonially unveiled on 28 October 1928. The town's history thus includes both architectural heritage and remembrance of the fallen.

Route and Horní les lookout tower

The hiking route “Z Rovečného na rozhlednu Horní les” starts in the square in Rovečné and follows a red-marked hiking trail along its entire length. Its destination is Horní les: at 774.3 metres, it is the highest point of the Svratecká hornatina. This gives the route a clearly defined topographical destination. If conditions change, check the trail markings on site.

The Horní les lookout tower is open to the public every year from 15 April to 15 October. Check the visiting conditions before setting out, and plan your visit to the tower within this period. For directions to the access point, note that the route to Horní les from the small car park opposite the health centre is accessible only to pedestrians and cyclists. The route, access from the car park and annual opening period are separate planning considerations; you can take each into account for your stay.

Summer swimming pool and sports court

The swimming pool is in the upper part of Rovečné, on the northern edge of the town, and is used as a nature swimming pool in summer. It measures 30 × 25 metres and is up to 2 metres deep. Confirm the dimensions on site if needed, and check the current water conditions and operating status before visiting. Its summer use makes the pool a seasonal option distinct from the lookout tower, which is open to the public every year from 15 April to 15 October.

There is also a multi-purpose sports court by the school. It is currently available only for tennis and volleyball; you can check for available times using the reservation feature. Its use may change as the facility is completed. If you would like to plan a visit to the court, check the currently available times and bear in mind that use is limited to these two sports.
