An architecturally significant chapel, a cycling route that passes through Pikárec, and traditional festivals reveal three different sides of the village. This variety is useful when choosing where to stay: cultural history, cycling and events offer different focal points. When planning your trip, you can decide whether architecture, landscape or local traditions should take centre stage.

Landscape and nature

Pikárec lies in the flat, gently rolling landscape of the Křižanovská vrchovina. The Kuchyň pond lies southeast of Pikárec and is known for its interesting vegetation. The landscape provides the regional setting; the pond adds a named natural feature with its own connection to vegetation. If you want to distinguish between culture and nature when planning your trip, you can consider the landscape setting and the pond as two different perspectives on the village.

Chapel and local history

The Chapel of St Procopius is considered a prominent landmark in Pikárec and an architecturally significant building. It is therefore a distinctive feature of the village’s appearance. Another way to explore local history is through the geologist Alois Myslivec (1898–1994). Pikárec is considered his birthplace. In 1946, Myslivec habilitated at the Czech Technical University in Prague in the fields of soil mechanics and foundation engineering, becoming the country’s first professor in this new field. The chapel and Myslivec’s biography offer two different points of connection to cultural history: a local building and the life of a geologist.

Cycling route and nature area

The “Přírodou Křižanovska” cycling tour passes through Pikárec via cycle route CT 5243. The tour’s name identifies the excursion, while CT 5243 identifies the cycle route used; together, they provide a specific point of reference for cycling. Unlike the local-history topics, Pikárec is presented here through the route of a designated cycling tour.

The Pod skalou nature area has a stage and catering available. It therefore combines an outdoor setting with facilities for events and refreshments. This offers a different focus for trip planning than the cycling tour, which passes through Pikárec.

Traditions and events

The “Pohádkový les” is a traditional walk and family event in Pikárec. The 2026 edition listed features seven fairytale-themed stations, with a reward for children at each one. The seven stations give the walk a clear structure. After the walk, refreshments will be available at the Pod Křibem picnic area during the 2026 edition listed.

Ostatky is a traditional masked parade through Pikárec. It is followed by an evening celebration for local residents, where traditional customs are observed. During the masked parade on 1 March 2025, houses throughout the municipality offered opportunities to have drinks and sample small treats.

For your trip planning, this distinction is useful: the chapel, landscape and cycling route are interests tied to the location, while the “Pohádkový les” and Ostatky make the occasion and date of each edition relevant. This allows you to tailor your search for a holiday apartment to the purpose of your trip.
