You can get to know Čebín from two different perspectives: St. George’s Church tells the story of a long building history, while Čebínka brings together views and a walk with several stops. For planning your trip, it is particularly useful to know that the “Koniklece a vláčky” route passes over Čebínka and returns to Čebín. This lets you decide whether your stay should focus mainly on historical details or also include a longer walk.

St. George’s: Romanesque core and Gothic frescoes

St. George’s Church is a monumental medieval ecclesiastical building. Its development spans from a Romanesque core to Late Gothic alterations. Several construction phases shape the appearance of the church. Valuable frescoes have been preserved in the Gothic presbytery; the Gothic wall paintings inside are also among the church’s notable features. For those interested in culture, the church combines the history of a religious building with surviving paintings. Its Romanesque origins and later Gothic alterations make the church a destination in its own right, alongside the area’s scenic attractions.

Čebínka and views across several regions

The hill of Čebínka lies one kilometre north of Čebín and reaches an elevation of 432 metres. The lookout tower on the hill is 38 metres high, with its viewing platform at a height of 30 metres. From there, the view extends to the Moravian Karst, Vysočina and the Boskovice Furrow. The lookout tower provides a specific landmark for exploring the landscape, while the three named regions put the far-reaching view into context. This means two different interests can guide your plans: the details of St. George’s Church and the views from Čebínka.

Wooden sculptures along the way

The path to Čebínka is lined with wooden sculptures. The figures named include Sova, Drak, Druid, Volavka, Had, Sparta and Moai. The series of sculptures accompanies the path with individual artistic motifs, adding another point of interest to the lookout. If you are hoping to see particular figures, bear in mind that installations may be moved or replaced; if necessary, check before your visit whether they are still in place as expected.

The “Koniklece a vláčky” walk

The 10.5-kilometre “Koniklece a vláčky” walk leads from Čebín via the Čebínka lookout tower and Malhostovická pecka to the garden railway in Drásov, then back to Čebín. The distance refers to the entire route: Čebínka is one stop on a walk that takes in other destinations and ends back where it began. This is useful when considering whether to visit just one point of interest or include the complete circuit in your plans. If any stops with fixed opening hours are important to your visit, check them in advance, as operating hours may change.

A planned cycle path project

The cycle path project between Čebín and Drásov is separate from the walk. A cycle path 2.89 kilometres long and three metres wide was planned. Of this, 1.5 kilometres were allocated to the section in Čebín and 1.39 kilometres to the section in Drásov. While the walk is described as a 10.5-kilometre route, the cycle path remains a planned project. The two figures therefore refer to different travel plans and should not be understood as the same route.

Choosing Čebín for your accommodation search

Your travel interests can help guide your search for a holiday apartment in Čebín: St. George’s is the cultural highlight, while Čebínka, the wooden sculptures and the circular route bring together different aspects of a walk. If you plan to visit the garden railway in Drásov and other stops, take the full 10.5-kilometre route into account.
