Pojbuky offers a variety of things to explore during your stay: cultural history, nature and the landscape. The Chapel of St. Anne stands in the village square; the Mozaika krajiny nature trail covers ecosystems, fauna and flora and ends at Kozák Pond. Polánka Nature Park extends southwest of the village. There is also a historic cross-country skiing route from the 2017 season. This gives you a choice between a single cultural monument, a nature trail, landscape features and a glimpse of an earlier winter season when planning your trip.

Chapel of St. Anne in the village square

The Chapel of St. Anne is located in Pojbuky’s village square. It was built in 1937 with contributions from local residents and is listed as an immovable cultural monument. Its year of construction, location and the residents’ contributions give the building a concrete connection to local history. If you like your destination to have a clearly identifiable historical connection, the chapel offers a fixed cultural landmark. It thus provides a different focus from the nature trail and the landscape features of Kozák and Polánka.

Landscape between Polánka and Kozák

Polánka Nature Park extends southwest of Pojbuky. Kozák Pond has a different focus: the natural character of its surroundings and the existing greenery are to be preserved. The two landscape features therefore have different points of reference. Polánka can be understood in terms of its location relative to the village; at Kozák, the focus is on the pond’s surroundings and their preservation. If you are more interested in the landscape than in architectural history, you can consider these as two different ways of exploring it: the location of a nature park on the one hand, and the intended character of a pond’s surroundings on the other.

Mozaika krajiny Nature Trail

The Mozaika krajiny nature trail ends at Kozák Pond near Pojbuky. Its six stops cover ecosystems, fauna and flora. This divides the nature theme into specific topics and several stopping points. The trail is suitable for pedestrians, cyclists, strollers and horse riders. These stated uses give you a practical guide when choosing a route. For travelers who like following a theme as they explore, the combination of several stops and nature-related content offers a different approach from visiting a single historic building. The trail description dates from 2021; check the current route before your visit.

A historic winter trail

Cross-country skiing offers a winter perspective. At the end of the 2017 season, a 50-kilometer cross-country loop was prepared for the first time. The route ran through Pojbuky – Hartvíkov – Pojbuky – Smilovy Hory – Hartvíkov. Its length and route make this former trail a distinct seasonal feature. If cross-country skiing influences your travel plans, check in advance whether the trail is currently being prepared.
