For nature enthusiasts, Dřešín offers several distinct themes: the floodplain meadows of the Peklov stream, the Chvalšovické pastviny, a named cycle route and the opportunity to fish at Lepů Pond. The floodplain meadows of the Peklov stream are designated as an important landscape feature in the municipality of Dřešín. This puts a specific landscape feature at the centre: the floodplain meadows of a named stream. Together with the Chvalšovické pastviny, they offer two different ways to experience nature: streamside floodplains on the one hand, and pastures with a diverse mosaic of habitats on the other.

The Chvalšovické pastviny comprise scrub-covered pastures with a mosaic structure of meadow and spring communities. Here, the mosaic describes the coexistence of these communities, not a single, uniform vegetation type. The area is also home to numerous valuable and endangered meadow and marsh plants. A total of 29 bird species, six small mammal species and six large mammal species have been recorded in the area. Thus, alongside plants and habitats, three distinct groups of animals are also part of this nature theme.

Cycling and Fishing

The Chvalšovice–Vacovice cycle route is designated as a recreational cycling route. Fishing is possible at Lepů Pond, which is also called Pelich. Both names refer to the same pond. This brings together two different leisure interests: a route designated for recreational cycling and fishing at a named body of water. Events with Their Own History

Šumavský den hasičů is a traditional event for children in Dřešín; the tradition began in 2011. Since 2014, the event has also been open to adult firefighters. The accordion gathering “Setkání harmonikářů na Podlesí” offers a different focus. The Dřešín Volunteer Fire Brigade (SDH Dřešín) has organised it since 2009; its venues have changed within the surrounding area. The two events therefore differ in theme: Šumavský den hasičů focuses on firefighting sport, while the gathering is devoted to accordion music. The accordion gathering began two years before Šumavský den hasičů.
