There are different ways to get to know Tlučná: through its local history, landscaped leisure areas and cycling. Particularly striking are the year 1079 on the Boží muka wayside shrine and the heritage-listed Panský dvůr s kaplí complex. Park Krimich, Koupaliště Tlučná and the cycle path between Tlučná and Vejprnice add further options to these historical points of interest when planning a stay.
Monuments and Local History
The Boží muka, a wayside shrine at the corner of the cemetery, is considered Tlučná’s oldest monument. The year 1079 is carved into it. The historic Panský dvůr s kaplí complex is in the center of Tlučná, north of the Plzeň–Domažlice railway line. Its location and the various surviving structures provide two specific points of reference for learning about the town.
Only underground rooms beneath the former fortress, a Neoclassical granary and a Neo-Gothic chapel survive from the originally heritage-listed site. The different names help distinguish the surviving parts: the underground rooms, granary and chapel each represent distinct architectural traces. The complex should therefore not be regarded as a fully preserved site.
A document from 1115 records the first written mention of Tlučná. The Přemyslid prince Vladislav I donated the village to the newly founded Benedictine monastery in Kladruby, thereby making the monastery responsible for protecting the village. Thus, alongside its surviving buildings, the town’s history also reveals a specific connection between the village, the prince and the monastery.
Park, Swimming Pool and Cycle Path
Park Krimich covers an area of 3.5 hectares. Trees and shrubs were planted there in the built-up area of Tlučná to improve recreational opportunities. The park is therefore a distinct attraction alongside the town’s history and architectural monuments.
On September 9, 2021, a new mining-themed children’s playground was officially opened in the park; its theme reflects Tlučná’s mining past. Disc golf baskets were installed there in 2022. Play equipment may be renewed, and outdoor facilities may be changed or maintained. Check the latest notices before use.
Koupaliště Tlučná has a 50 × 25-metre main pool, and the facility also includes a water slide. This makes the swimming pool another leisure option alongside the park and local history. The slide’s operating schedule and availability may change seasonally. Check the latest notices before visiting.
For cyclists, the cycle path between Tlučná and Vejprnice is another specific point of interest. It runs through the valley of the Vejprnický potok and connects to the existing cycle-path network. Those who would rather include a route linking different places than visit individual leisure attractions can use this route as a guide. As cycle-path connections may change, it is worth checking the latest route details before setting out.
