Two educational trails in Sebranice focus on different themes: one is called “Sebranice in History and the Present,” while the other explores chapels, old paths and stories from the surrounding area. There is also church architecture, protected natural areas and a sports complex by the outdoor swimming pool. When planning your stay, you can decide whether to focus more on trails, culture or physical activity.
Educational Trails with Different Themes
The “Sebranice in History and the Present” educational trail is 8.5 km long. A shorter alternative is the 6 km “Restoration of the Chapels in Vysoký Les” educational trail. It covers the reconstruction of chapels, old paths and stories from the surrounding area. The route leads to the Schlesinger Chapel, a spring and the protected natural monument “Sněženky ve Vysokém lese.” Most of the route is suitable for cycling; conditions may vary by season.
The two routes differ both in length and in their themes and destinations. Those interested in chapels and local traditions will find these themes explicitly featured in Vysoký Les. The longer educational trail has the history and present of Sebranice right there in its name. The distances help you compare the routes; no walking time is specified.
Church, Monument and Living Picture
St. Nicholas Church in Sebranice combines elements that are partly Gothic and partly simple Renaissance. For a cultural exploration of the town, the combination of the two styles offers a specific architectural point of interest. The railway monument is another distinctive feature: it includes a working track 4.15 m long.
Another cultural reference is “Živý obraz u kolejí.” The event takes place every year on St. Wenceslas Day. People dressed in First Republic-era clothing gather under a lime tree and create a living picture in the landscape. If you would like to include the event in your travel plans, check the specific date in advance; exact dates may vary.
Springs, Wet Meadows and Protected Nature
The Jalový potok stream and its spring-fed surroundings provide habitats for plants and animals found in wet meadows and along forest edges. The “V bukách” nature reserve is located in the Vysoký Les area; the protected natural monument “Sněženky ve Vysokém lese” is also near the hamlet of Vysoký Les. These are two distinct, named natural sites. The natural monument is one of the destinations on the educational trail about restoring the chapels.
Other notable local features include the Toulovcova kašna fountain at a plentiful spring. It is fed year-round with clear, iron-rich water. A sycamore maple in Třemošná is designated as a memorial tree. Together with the Jalový potok and the springs, these places show different aspects of the landscape: habitats in wet meadows and along forest edges, protected natural areas and individual named natural features.
Sports and Overnight Stays by the Outdoor Pool
The sports complex by the outdoor swimming pool has an artificial turf court for tennis, nohejbal, volleyball, football and speed badminton. The complex also includes two courts for beach volleyball and beach football. Several different ball sports are therefore available there. These activities offer a possible focus for your stay that differs from the educational trails and cultural sites.
Next to the Sebranice outdoor swimming pool, overnight stays are available in tents and caravans on a meadow. There is an electricity connection, a restaurant and sanitary facilities; services may be seasonal. Check availability for your planned travel dates before you go. You can use Sebranice as a starting point for your further search for a holiday apartment.
