The Mladějov narrow-gauge railway gives Mladějov Na Moravě a distinct connection to its industrial history. The railway, with a gauge of 600 mm, was built toward the end of the First World War to transport loess, fireclay and local coal. Its original purpose was to transport materials; on announced dates, steam locomotives regularly haul excursion trains along the route. This clearly distinguishes its former transport role from the excursion experience. If a train ride is important to your stay, check the announced dates and plan accordingly.
Narrow-gauge railway and industrial history
The Průmyslové muzeum Mladějov is also linked to the town’s former industrial character: it is located on the site of the former fireclay works. The railway and museum offer different perspectives: the narrow-gauge railway focuses on transporting loess, fireclay and local coal, while the museum’s specific connection to the area is its former factory site.
Historic buildings and remembrance
The former Mladějovská rychta is an enclosed rural estate. It has a side gallery and wooden granary chambers on the upper floor. Painted inscriptions on the gables bear the year 1791. The architectural details are thus found on the side of the estate, on the upper floor and on the gables.
Mladějov–Blosdorf 1915 is part of the local culture of remembrance: a traditional memorial ceremony for soldiers who fell on all fronts of the First World War. If you are travelling specifically for this ceremony, check the exact event date in advance.
Trails and nature near Mladějov

If you are planning to cycle, check the current route.
At the southern edge of the built-up area of Mladějov Na Moravě, on the left side of the path to Mladějovské hradisko, stands a cross about 4.5 metres high, made of local yellow sandstone and depicting the body of Christ on the cross. Its location, material and approximate height give the monument a specific connection to the place.
The Pod Skálou natural monument has a botanical focus. The cadastral areas of Mladějov Na Moravě and Nová Ves u Moravské Třebové are included in the natural monument. Reasons for its protection include natural European yew stands within beech forests, as well as an abundant occurrence of rare, warmth-loving plants on exposed rock outcrops. The natural monument thus offers two distinct features: beech forests with yews and open rocky areas with warmth-loving plants. The site can be reached from the road via a walkable tourist trail; it lies more than 250 m from the road. Plan to include the walk as part of your visit.
