Two former settlements, a chapel with a dated construction history and a cycling route give Tvorovice a distinctive character. There is also a pond surrounded by a landscaped park and the “U Kaple” children’s and park area. When planning your trip, you can choose between local history, leisure in the village and a cycling route that passes through Tvorovice. The event series adds a date-specific occasion to these features of the village.
Two settlements, one local history
In the lower part of Tvorovice lies Staré Tvorovice, which served as a monastic estate from the 14th to the 18th century. After the monastic estate was dissolved, Nové Tvorovice arose as a separate settlement in the 18th century. In the 19th century, the new settlement and the original village were united into the municipality of Tvorovice. The sequence is revealing: first, the monastic estate shaped Staré Tvorovice; then Nové Tvorovice was added as a separate settlement, before the two were brought together as a municipality. This makes it possible to distinguish clear phases in the village’s history, rather than reducing its development to a single founding date.
Chapel of Saint Bartholomew
The Chapel of Saint Bartholomew offers another historical point of reference. It was built in 1883 and dedicated to Saint Bartholomew; in 1967, it underwent extensive renovation. The construction and renovation mark two distinct phases in its history: the chapel was built in the late 19th century and renovated in the second half of the 20th century. Along with the development of the municipality, the chapel adds the history of an individual building to the story of the village.
Pond, park and U Kaple
A pond in Tvorovice is surrounded by a landscaped park and can be enjoyed for recreation and relaxation. This provides a different focus from the historical themes: here, the emphasis is on leisure in the landscaped surroundings. The “U Kaple” children’s and park area is also available to visitors for leisure activities; its play equipment is intended for children aged three to 15. The distinction is clear: the pond is for relaxation, while U Kaple offers play facilities for a specifically stated age group.
Cycling route and event series
Cycling route 5013 passes through Tvorovice between PivĂn and Hruška, and continues from there to ChĹ™iby Nature Park. This places the village on a named route connecting two points of reference: the stretch between the villages and its continuation to the nature park. If cycling is among your travel interests, you can consider Tvorovice as part of your route planning rather than focusing your ride solely on the village’s sights.
The 2023 edition of “Mikroregion NÄ›mÄŤicko se bavĂ” took place in Tvorovice and was part of a traditional event series that rotates among the municipalities of the microregion. The Tvorovice edition included a parade, competitions between teams and an accompanying programme. Unlike the history of the buildings and settlements, the festival is a date-specific occasion. If you would like to plan your stay around it, check the relevant date and venue.
