In Ludmírov, natural surroundings and local history sit side by side: the Průchodnice Nature Reserve is characterised by Devonian limestone, a cave and two rock gates. Marked hiking trails cross the administrative area, as does an existing cycling route. There is also a chapel in the centre, protected cultural monuments and archaeological traces. When planning your trip, you can choose your own focus among the landscape, outdoor activities and history.

Landscape and Protected Nature

The entire administrative area of Ludmírov, including its local districts, lies within Kladecko Nature Park. Forested areas alternate with agricultural land, while deep stream valleys, including the Špraněk Valley, divide the landscape. This mix of forest, open land and incised valleys gives the natural environment several distinct facets.

The nature areas each have their own distinctive features. Průchodnice protects a Devonian limestone rock formation with a cave and two rock gates. The nature reserve also includes ancient beech and mixed forests, rare plants such as the Turk’s cap lily and several orchid species, as well as a wintering site for the protected barbastelle bat. Geological formations and special habitats meet here.

At Skalky, the focus is on plant life: its species-rich herb layer includes numerous rare and protected species, including lily of the valley, white helleborine and broad-leaved helleborine. The small rocky hill also supports an ancient woodland stand dominated by beech and hornbeam. Rudka offers another connection with nature: this nature reserve in Kladecko Nature Park protects mixed forest and adjoining meadows on a limestone rock, with protected herb species. The three areas therefore differ in their stated features: rock and cave, a species-rich herb layer, and forest and meadows on limestone.

Hiking Trails and Cycling Route

To understand the marked hiking trails in relation to the area, it is useful to note how each relates to Ludmírov. A blue-marked trail crosses the administrative area on the Blansko – Jaroměřice – Kladky – Milkov farma – Kadeřín – Javoříčko route. A green-marked trail, by contrast, touches the southern edge of the administrative area; its route runs from Nádraží ČD Jesenec via Kladky, Hamerky, Kozov and Bouzov to Bílá Lhota. One trail crosses the area, while the other touches its southern edge.

For cyclists, the existing cycling route No. 5030 is relevant. It crosses the administrative area of Ludmírov and runs between Konice and Bouzov. Hiking and cycling are therefore represented here by different marked routes. When comparing the routes, you can first distinguish them by activity and route, rather than treating them as a single tour.

Chapel, Cultural Monuments and Historical Traces

St. Anne’s Chapel, founded in 1836, is located in the centre of Ludmírov. The first written record of Ludmírov dates from 15 November 1382. These two dates represent different historical references: the record documents the settlement in writing, while the year of foundation dates the chapel.

Individual buildings also form part of the local character. The wayside shrine (Boží muka) on the road to Ponikev in Ludmírov has been protected as an immovable cultural monument since 3 May 1958. The rural Empire-style farmstead No. 23, in the northwestern part of Ludmírov, has held the same protected status since 3 May 1958. A settlement dating to the Neolithic and Bronze Ages has also been documented in the Ludmírov–Průchodnice locality. Together, these represent different historical layers: archaeological settlement traces, the first written record, and buildings founded or protected at a later date.
