Rolling hills, a settlement history dating back to the Middle Ages and marked trails give Lazníčky a distinct character. When planning your trip, you can decide whether to spend more time exploring the village’s history or focus on the cycling and hiking options described here.

Location and landscape

Lazníčky lies in the Tršická pahorkatina between Olomouc and Lipník nad Bečvou, north of Přerov and at the foot of the Nízký Jeseník and the Oderské vrchy. The surrounding landscape comprises rounded hills, plateaus, slopes and valleys. Village settlements, fields, hop gardens and forests alternate across the area. The region can therefore be explored through several types of landscape rather than a single defining feature.

A stream can also be traced precisely on a map: it rises north of the village centre, flows south through Lazníčky and first joins the Říka, then the Bečva. This sequence adds a specific watercourse through the area to the picture of hills and valleys. When exploring the village’s location, you can follow both the landscape and the course of the water.

Village history and chapel

The settlement from which Lazníčky later developed has been documented in writing since 1365.

A school was operating in Lazníčky three years after compulsory schooling was introduced in 1775. It was intended for pupils from Lazníky, Výkleky, Zakřov, Svrčov and Lazníčky. The places named give an impression of the communities served by the school. In 1885, up to 250 children attended the school in Lazníčky—a specific figure that makes the school’s importance to its pupils at the time tangible.

The Chapel of the Beheading of St John the Baptist in Lazníčky also dates from 1885. The school and chapel thus share the same year, but represent different aspects of the village’s history: education on the one hand and a religious building on the other. Anyone interested in the village’s past will find two clearly dated reference points here, without needing to follow a longer chronology.

Cycling and hiking

Cycle Route 6058 connects Tršice, Lazníčky, Výkleky, Veselíčko and Hranice na Moravě. This gives you a specific sequence of places to consider when planning a ride. A green-marked hiking trail passes through Lazníčky along the Přerov–Tršice–Lazníčky–Veselíčko section. The two routes are easy to distinguish depending on whether you are looking for a cycling connection or a marked hiking trail; they are not the same route. Signage and route conditions can change, so check them before setting out.

The described cycling excursion also includes a visit to the Žalov memorial and swimming in the Výkleky quarry. These add two different destinations to the cycling routes mentioned: a visit with a historical connection and a swimming break. Water access and safety conditions can change; check the conditions at the quarry in advance. The information does not promise a particular duration or a fixed route.

When choosing accommodation in Lazníčky, you can therefore first decide what matters most: would you like to get to know the village through its history, or focus your plans more on cycling and hiking? The village description, historical details and named routes offer different starting points for making that decision. By checking route conditions and, where relevant, access to the swimming destination in advance, you can plan around the specific activities described.
