The rocky Bradlo shapes the landscape around Lipinka. The village lies in a deeply incised basin by the Brabínek stream, below the mountain. Exploring Lipinka, you can therefore experience the valley, stream and ridge as different aspects of the same landscape. Bradlo is also a distinctive landmark and a destination for excursions.
Basin setting and views from Bradlo
Bradlo is the highest point of the Úsovská vrchovina highlands. From there, views stretch across the Jeseníky Mountains, Svatý Kopeček and Olomouc to the Mohelnicko area. These landmarks give the panorama a broad regional scope: mountains, a prominent ridge and a city lie in different directions. For orientation, it is worth associating the name Bradlo with this viewpoint, rather than only with the lower-lying village.
There is also an animal enclosure among the destinations along the way to Bradlo. Visitors can see red deer, fallow deer and mouflons there. If you are making a special trip to see the enclosure, it is advisable to check in advance whether it is currently accessible.
Hiking and cycling routes
A blue-marked hiking trail runs through Lipinka from Úsov via Bradlo and Libina to Velké Losiny. The sequence of place names provides clear orientation along the route. Lipinka is also a popular destination for hikes and cycling trips; the various routes offer an overview of different ways through the area without needing to combine them into a single tour.
Two long-distance cycling routes are also linked to Lipinka. Route 6031 passes through the village and follows the route Úsov–Klopina–Veleboř–Nová Hradečná–Troubelice. Long-distance cycling route 6050 passes through Lipinka between Kamenná and Nedvězí. When comparing cycling routes, you can use the named places and the route corridor as a guide.
The cycling excursion route “Výlet plný pověstí” also runs through Lipinka and continues towards Nová Hradečná. Alongside the numbered long-distance cycling routes, this provides a themed excursion route and a blue-marked hiking trail as distinct points of reference. If cycling on the red- and blue-marked hiking trails, bicycles must be pushed.
Hody, the chapel and traditional crafts
The annual Hody celebrations in Lipinka take place on 28 September, the feast day of Saint Wenceslas. They culminate in a mass at the local chapel and draw pilgrims from the surrounding area. The Chapel of Saint Wenceslas is a simple building with yellow plaster: its rectangular floor plan, semicircular apse and small bell turret define its architecture. The feast day and the building thus represent two distinct aspects of local religious life—the annual community celebration and the physical place of worship.
Domestic crafts are also part of Lipinka’s history. Brooms, sieves and riding crops were made, and linen was woven. The sieve and rake makers of Lipinka sold their products as far away as Hungary and the Balkans. The reach of this trade stands out against the village’s modest setting by the Brabínek: products made by local craftspeople travelled far beyond the area.
Arrival and your stay
Lipinka has two bus stops, some of which are equipped with passenger shelters. Bus services run to Uničov and Zábřeh. As timetables may change, check the current service before travelling. These two destinations provide a practical reference when planning your journey by bus.
You can explore Lipinka according to your interests: Bradlo links the village landscape with views and hiking trails, the cycling routes offer several designated corridors, and the Hody celebrations and chapel offer a glimpse of local traditions. Together with the history of domestic crafts, they create a picture that brings landscape, outdoor activities and culture together—without requiring a fixed itinerary for every stay.
