The Stonávka flows from south to north through the centre of Třanovice. Together with its floodplain, a nature trail and memorial sites dedicated to Jiří Třanovský, it offers visitors a range of starting points for planning an excursion. The key question is whether you would rather focus on the landscape and birdlife or on cultural history.

The Stonávka, its floodplain and birdlife

The banks of the Stonávka are surrounded by remnants of floodplain forest and farmland. An estimated 60 to 65 bird species regularly breed in the floodplain; a further 10 to 15 species use the area only during migration. Both figures are estimates and may change over time. For nature enthusiasts, the distinction is informative: the figures cover both species that regularly breed in the floodplain and those that use the area only during migration.

Nature trail and Lesopark

The “Za poznáním Třanovic” nature trail is divided into three colour-coded sections. It has eleven stops with information boards as well as three interactive boards. The trail’s facilities may change during renovations; if a particular stop is important to your plans, it is worth checking the latest information.

Lesopark u řeky Stonávky has seven additional information boards, play features for children and pleasant places to rest. Play equipment and facilities may change. If a particular play feature or rest area is essential to your visit, check the latest information in advance.

Jiří Třanovský and Kapplův dvůr

The permanent exhibition at the Jiří Třanovský Memorial is devoted to his life, work and legacy, and their influence on culture, language and spirituality among neighbouring Slavic peoples. A statue of Jiří Třanovský stands in front of the entrance to the Evangelical church. The memorial and statue offer different points of focus: the exhibition covers his life and influence, while the statue is located in front of the church. If you plan to visit the memorial, check visiting arrangements in advance.

Another defining feature of Třanovice is Kapplův dvůr, which returned to its traditional name after its revitalisation. The complex also serves as a modern commercial area. It houses a gallery of renewable energy sources and the Green Centre educational centre. As part of field trips, schoolchildren take part there in environmental education, instruction and awareness-raising.

A local nature trail and a regional network of routes

The Hipostezka v Pobeskydí offers a different spatial perspective. It is part of a roughly 30-kilometre network of agro-trails in the microregion of municipalities in the Stonávka River basin. The Hipostezka runs from Horní Tošanovice, with branches towards Dolní Tošanovice and Třanovice. One difference in scale is relevant when planning an excursion: the nature trail in Třanovice is divided into sections and stops, while the Hipostezka belongs to a network with connections in other directions.
