Several cycling routes run through Písek U Jablunkova; Plenisko and the northeastern part of the Slezské Beskydy Landscape Area offer a range of nature-related attractions. The new evangelical church and a local Gorol dialect add architecture and language to the picture. If you are looking for a holiday apartment, you can choose your focus based on cycling, landscape or local culture. The individual routes can be distinguished by their course and destinations.

Getting there by bus

Bus line 783 connects Třinec, Jablunkov, Písečná, Písek and Bukovec in that order. This makes it easy to see where Písek lies along the route. Timetables and routes may change, so check the connection for your travel date.

Cycling routes through Písek

Cycling Route 56 Bukovec–Bohumín runs through Písek and is part of the Krakow–Moravia–Vienna Greenway there. Cycling Route 10, the Olše Route, also passes through Písek and connects Bukovec with Chotěbuz. The endpoints distinguish the two routes: Route 56 leads to Bohumín, while Route 10 leads to Chotěbuz. In the centre of Písek, Cycling Route 6086 intersects Route 56. This means two numbered routes meet here, while the destinations of Routes 56 and 10 point in different directions. Conditions and signage may change; check them before setting out.

Nature reserve and landscape

Plenisko is a nature reserve in the cadastral area of Písek. Numerous waterlogged areas and the headwaters of the Bystrý stream shape the landscape. A 1998 regulation protects natural, primeval-forest-like woodland there, with a gene pool of autochthonous—that is, native—firs, beeches, spruces and sycamore maples. Plenisko thus combines distinctive wetland areas and a headwaters area with a specific focus on the protection of forests and tree species.

The northeastern part of Písek lies within the Slezské Beskydy Landscape Area. Mountains and forests shape this landscape, which is also characterised by distant views and high aesthetic quality. This is a different focus from Plenisko Nature Reserve: here, the emphasis is on a mountain and forest landscape, while Plenisko is a nature reserve with a specific conservation purpose. The Olše river corridor near Písek is also a European Site of Community Importance within the Natura 2000 network. The forest reserve, mountain landscape and river corridor therefore offer different nature-related themes to consider when planning your trip.

Architecture and local language

The new church of the evangelical congregation in Písek was completed in 2010 and is considered architecturally very interesting. It adds a cultural highlight alongside the nature and route-related attractions. A local Gorol dialect is also associated with Písek, adding a linguistic dimension to the sense of place. When planning your days, you can look beyond the routes to include architecture and regional language culture.
