A 25-metre-high viewpoint, a themed trail just under two kilometres long and a 28-kilometre circular route show how differently you can discover Město Albrechtice. Options range from a single climb to a playful trail and a longer route with several destinations. There is also Baroque architecture, collections and outdoor activities. To help plan your visit, consider whether you want to focus on views, activity or culture.
Views and routes of varying lengths
The Hraniční vrch observation tower consists of two towers and is freely accessible year-round. Its viewing platform is 25 metres high and can be reached via 149 steps. This makes the tower a clearly defined single destination for anyone who wants to focus on the view from above.
The Městský turistický okruh is a different proposition: at 28 kilometres, it connects Poutní hora, the Burkvíz ruins, Linhartovy Castle, the Hraniční vrch observation tower and Vrch Dubí Mountain. The route is rated moderate and is also suitable for families with children. Unlike a single viewpoint, it includes several named destinations and is considerably longer.
For longer cycling plans, the 140-kilometre Slezská magistrála cycle route runs from Jeseník via Město Albrechtice, Krnov, Úvalno and Opava to Kravaře. If you plan to take this route, check current route conditions before setting off. You can fish and cycle at Rybník Celňák pond; in winter, ice skating is also possible there. This gives you a choice of different ways to be active, including an explicitly seasonal option in the form of ice skating.
Playful trails and activities
The Pohádková stezka Ke Krtečkově studánce trail is just under two kilometres long. It features interactive elements and games at eleven stations. The trail is suitable for families with children and is also accessible with a stroller. This makes it a short alternative to the 28-kilometre circular route if you are looking for a trail with stations rather than a multi-destination route.
The disc golf course in Bedřicha Smetany Park has six baskets and 20 disc golf discs. Its specific offering therefore differs from the themed trail’s stations: here, the focus is on baskets and discs, while the trail features a series of interactive stations and games.
Jezdecké centrum Město Albrechtice offers trail rides, training sessions for advanced riders, and riding opportunities for children and adults. Riding takes place in the outdoor arena and, in bad weather, in the indoor riding hall. Booking in advance is required. If you plan to visit Eldorádo Hynčice, check the visiting arrangements again before you travel. You can see a prehistoric scene featuring dinosaurs, brontosaurs and other giant reptiles, as well as fairy-tale creatures and other figures.
Baroque architecture and collections
The Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary combines architectural history with Baroque furnishings. It was built in the mid-18th century on the site of a wooden church that had burned down. Inside are ornate Baroque altars, including a high altar with a painting of the Visitation of Mary. The church is one of the finest examples of Baroque religious architecture in the Osoblažsko region. The Baroque Column of St. Anne also stands in the town square.
Linhartovy Castle houses a permanent exhibition of rare ceramics by Jan Kutálek. The Minimuzeum kočárků a panenek has a different collection focus: it displays more than 150 prams and more than 300 dolls. The museum is open by telephone appointment; admission is by voluntary contribution. Call ahead to arrange access.
