A nearly five-metre-high column shrine, three mature chestnut trees and a crossroads define a distinctive spot in Svaté Pole. Also nearby are the Church of St Elizabeth of Hungary, protected as an immovable cultural monument, a hiking trail, and options for leisure and dining. If you are considering Svaté Pole as a place to stay, you can make your choice based on these specific attractions.

Cultural Monuments and Historic Buildings

The Boží muka stands in the upper part of Svaté Pole, near the southern edge of the village. The column shrine rises on a slightly elevated, well-kept grassy bank. The chestnut trees stand nearby, with house No. 39 in front, at the crossroads leading to Obořiště and Ouběnice. Its position on the edge of the village and at a crossroads gives the monument a different setting from a building in the town centre.

The Church of St Elizabeth of Hungary is protected as an immovable cultural monument. Residential building No. 41 has a different historical connection: it stands on the foundations of a former fortress. Its original stone barrel-vaulted cellars and vaulted ground-floor rooms have been preserved. A barrel vault is a lengthwise, arched ceiling; these surviving features make the building’s former fortress history a distinctive point of interest for architecture enthusiasts.

The rectory can also be identified by its architectural style. The Classicist, single-storey building has a rectangular floor plan and a hipped roof, with sloping roof surfaces on the short sides as well. The interior rooms have largely been preserved. The garden also contains cellars belonging to the former Baroque rectory. The present building stands approximately on its former site—a different connection to local history from the fortress foundations of house No. 41.

Hiking Trail and Leisure

A red-marked hiking trail goes around the main part of Svaté Pole and passes only through the district of Budínek. If you are planning a hike, bear this route in mind and do not mistake it for a trail through the main part of the village. It is worth checking the current markings before setting out.

The Adventure Golf Club Budínek has an 18-hole adventure golf course with various natural obstacles. The club also regularly holds public tournaments. This adds a dedicated activity and recurring events alongside the cultural attractions. If you specifically want to attend a tournament, check the current date before your trip.

Plan Your Meals and Stay

The Statek Svaté Pole restaurant offers Czech and international cuisine, à la minute dishes and specialities. The selection also includes Bernard beer, the restaurant’s own roasted coffee, bowling and a wine cellar. Menus and facilities may change; if you are counting on dining or bowling, check the current offer in advance.

To decide whether Svaté Pole is right for your trip, consider its different highlights: protected buildings and historic architectural features, a hiking trail with a clearly specified route, adventure golf with regular public tournaments, and a restaurant with bowling and a wine cellar.
