In Úholičky, several different ways of exploring come together: pilgrim and nature trails, views of the Vltava, cultural landmarks and the publicly accessible nine-hole Golf SNAIL course. When looking for a holiday apartment, you can consider which of these themes you would like to shape your stay. The routes differ considerably in length and character; there are also specific directions for reaching the golf course and information about a possible ferry crossing.

Pilgrim Route and Nature Trails

The Stezka sv. Ludmily (St Ludmila Trail) passes through Úholičky and forms part of a 132-kilometre pilgrim route divided into eleven stages. It connects significant places associated with the beginnings of Czech statehood. The fourth stage runs from Budeč through Svrkyně, Noutonice and Velké Přílepy, passing through Úholičky and continuing to Levý Hradec in Roztoky. This places the local section within a longer route without equating it with the entire route.

The circular route and nature trail “Rozhlédni se, člověče” (“Look Around, Human”) starts in the village square and follows the left bank of the Vltava. The section through Úholičky passes through a cherry orchard and a birch grove, then follows a field track to the Stříbrník crossroads. Those interested in a longer route can also take “Od Okoře k Vltavě” (“From Okoř to the Vltava”): it is about 45 kilometres long, suitable for walkers and cyclists, and passes through Úholičky. The two distance figures refer to different routes.

Řivnáč and Cultural Heritage

From the summit of Řivnáč, you can enjoy views of the Vltava towards Prague and Kralupy, as well as of the “Vlčí jáma” (“Wolf’s Pit”) gorge. The hill is also associated with archaeological finds from the Stone Age and Bronze Age. The landscape and early history are therefore two distinct aspects of the same place: the view opens onto the Vltava valley, while the finds connect it with distant eras.

Úholičky Chateau is a protected cultural monument and has been protected since 1958. The chateau has a three-hectare English-style landscape park. Rare trees and shrubs planted at the time have survived there to this day. A visit to the chateau can thus be paired with time in the park and an appreciation of the protected heritage, while keeping the two distinct.

Golf, Train and Ferry

Golf SNAIL is a publicly accessible nine-hole golf course. The tee offers a view of the Vltava valley. To reach the golf club, take train S4 from Masarykovo nádraží to Úholičky station; from there, a forest path climbs uphill to the club. The club is also home to the Golf Snail Gallery. Exhibition openings take place during every SPG Tour tournament. If you would like to plan a visit around an opening, check the tournament dates.

The Přívoz Úholičky–Husinec–Řež ferry connects Úholičky and Husinec–Řež and links the cycling routes of the two municipalities. As operating arrangements may change seasonally, check the timetable before travelling. This lets you take the ferry connection into account when planning a cycling trip without assuming that it operates the same way all year round.

At the Na Krakově open-air theatre, large swings and a slide have been installed on the site of the former outdoor theatre. The “Rozhlédni se, člověče” nature trail also leads to the Švestkovna rope playground. For visitors who prefer to follow questions and stops, the first section of the tourist trail in Úholičky starts in the village square. Maps with questions about the individual stops are available there.

When choosing a holiday apartment in Úholičky, it may help to start with what you want to focus on: the nature trails offer named landscape landmarks, the longer routes provide a different perspective on the area, and reaching the golf club involves an uphill forest path after the train journey. If you are considering a cycling trip along the connected routes of the two municipalities, you should also check the seasonally changing ferry timetable.
