Mrzky can be planned around three specific interests: village history, trails connected to the local fruit-growing tradition, and dog training at Paví Dvůr. The 1899 chapel and the monument to the fallen mark different historical points of reference; the Central Bohemian Fruit Trail connects rest stops with maps and information about fruit growing. Paví Dvůr, in turn, offers training by reservation. When looking for a holiday apartment, you can first decide which focus you want to shape your stay.
Village history with local connections
The chapel was built in 1899 using contributions from local residents. The monument to the citizens of Mrzky who fell in the First World War was erected in 1919 at the expense of the residents and the municipality. The monument lists the names of 20 fallen residents of Mrzky, along with the house numbers of their homes. In this way, the names are linked to specific places in the village. Together, the chapel and the monument show two different aspects of local history: residents’ participation in the construction and the commemoration of the fallen. The earliest surviving written mention of Mrzky comes from a document dated 23 May 1295. This early historical reference thus substantially predates the chapel of 1899 and the monument of 1919.
Fruit-growing tradition and trails
The Central Bohemian Fruit Trail has ten rest stops with maps and information about the local fruit-growing tradition. The maps and information make fruit growing itself a theme of the trail. Facilities at the rest stops may change; check what is available on site before setting out.
During the project period from 2011 to 2013, the trail also featured interactive panels that visitors could use to test their knowledge. If you are planning specifically to visit these panels, check locally which ones are available.
One hiking route starts in Mrzky village square and follows the Central Bohemian Fruit Trail and cycle route 8210 towards Limuzy. When planning this route, check current trail markings and surface conditions. The stated route gives you a specific direction for your trip.
Dog training at Paví Dvůr
The Paví Dvůr training hall offers 390 m² of indoor space for dog training. Paví Dvůr welcomes, among other activities, agility, dog dancing, obedience training, obedience and hoopers. This makes dog sports another way to include Mrzky in your travel plans, distinct from village history or a hike. Participation is by reservation; check booking requirements and availability before you arrive.
If you are looking for a holiday apartment in Mrzky, you can base your choice on your planned interests. Compare options according to your own requirements and check availability for your travel dates.
