Chotutice offers several reasons to visit: a chapel built in two phases, a lime-tree avenue and a park around the war memorial, as well as a natural monument nearby. The BramboraÄŤka Cup may also be a reason to visit. When choosing your destination, consider whether you are mainly interested in local history, nature or the annual football tournament. Chotutice railway station is another point to consider when planning your journey.

Getting there and finding your way

Chotutice railway station is on line 012, on the Pečky–Bečváry and Bošice–Kouřim routes. If you plan to include the train in your trip, check the current timetable before travelling: rail connections and timetable details may change. The line number and both route names give you specific information to help find a suitable connection.

Village character and history

In the village centre, the war memorial stands at the junction of Průběžná and Viselecká streets. A park surrounds the memorial. A lime-tree avenue also leads to a cross, which was restored in 2022 at the municipality’s expense. The two green spaces and the cross offer different points of interest in the village: the central memorial site and its park on the one hand, and the avenue leading to a cross on the other.

The Chapel of the Virgin Mary also tells the story of several building phases. It was originally built in 1805 as a Classicist chapel with an unknown dedication. In 1909, it was remodelled in the Art Nouveau style to designs by Ing. Josef Koněrze. The chapel’s current name, the Chapel of the Virgin Mary, should therefore be distinguished from its original dedication, which is unknown for the 1805 building. Anyone interested in architectural history can distinguish these two periods: the original Classicist construction and the later Art Nouveau remodelling.

Natural monument nearby

The Lom u Radimi natural monument lies near Chotutice, between the southwestern edge of Radim and the Chotutice railway stop, on the left bank of the Výrovka. It protects an example of Upper Cretaceous shoreface facies. This geological protected area complements the architectural and local history you can discover in Chotutice.

There are two named approaches to the natural monument: a turnoff from the green Pečky–Kouřim hiking trail, or the signposts for the Cestou za trilobity educational trail. These route details help you plan your outing using specific paths. You can make the natural monument your main focus or include it in your travel plans alongside local points of interest, without needing to assume any particular length of stay.

Plan your reason for visiting and your accommodation

The Bramboračka Cup is an annual football tournament in Chotutice. For 2026, Malá Kopaná in Chotutice is listed as the venue. If the tournament is the reason for your trip, check the exact date before planning your accommodation.

When choosing a holiday apartment, consider Chotutice if the local and natural points of interest mentioned here fit your travel plans. First decide whether you want to focus on the chapel and village green, an outing to the natural monument or a visit timed to coincide with the tournament.
