The Chapel of St Florian is a landmark of Kyšice; south of the village, the Kačák stream flows through a wooded valley. Together with memorials in the village square and paths between Kyšice and Unhošť, these specific points of interest give the village its own character. Those planning a stay can find traces of local history here, as well as different ways to engage with the landscape and community life.

Village History Around the Village Square

The Chapel of St Florian was built in 1863 using municipal funds. A monument in the village square commemorates the residents of Kyšice who fell in the First World War (1914–1918), as well as the victims of the German occupation of Bohemia during the Second World War (1939–1945). A cross on a sandstone pedestal dating from 1888 also stands in the square near the chapel. The dates point to different chapters in local history: the construction of the chapel, the cross and the remembrance of the war victims.

Another historical landmark stands above Kyšice on the road to Braškov: a wayside shrine dating from 1897. Together, these structures and memorials offer a glimpse into different forms of remembrance and religious expression.

Sokol Hall and Bookable Sports Facilities

Sokol Hall was built in 1924–1925 with contributions and donations from residents and served for many years as the centre of gymnastics and cultural life in Kyšice. The small hall can be booked for fitness training, dancing, yoga and table tennis, with three tables available. The multi-purpose outdoor court at Sokol Hall can also be booked. It can be used for tennis, nohejbal, volleyball, five-a-side football and basketball. Check the availability of your preferred facility before visiting.

Countryside and Nature Around Kyšice

Kyšice lies in gently rolling countryside on the western edge of the Prague Plateau, at the transition between the Kladno Tableland and the Lány Hills. South of the village, the Kačák stream, also known as Loděnice, runs through a wooded valley. Parkán Pond, covering approximately 70 ares, lies on the edge of the village. These landscape features offer several points of reference: the stream south of the village, the pond on its outskirts and the wider area between the named landscape regions.

The Kyšice–Kobyla Site of Community Importance covers 20.3731 hectares and protects the great crested newt (Triturus cristatus). Another regional landmark, the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area, begins about four kilometres from Kyšice.

Routes and Local Events

The cycle and footpath between Kyšice and Unhošť, newly built in 2009, is intended for pedestrians and cyclists and is frequently used by residents. It is distinct from Cycle Route 201, which runs from Kyšice via Valdek and onwards to Družec. Check the current route markings before riding Route 201. This gives you two different options for planning: the cycle and footpath with Unhošť as its destination, and a cycle route that continues via Valdek to Družec.

The local events calendar includes the annual “Čarodějnice” festival, featuring a lantern procession through the village. If you would like to plan your trip around the festival, check the event dates in advance.

Sauna with Separate Session Times

The sauna in Kyšice offers sessions for women on Tuesdays from 18:00 to 22:00 and for men on Thursdays from 18:00 to 22:00. Private hire is available on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 to 22:00; last admission is at 20:00 in each case. As schedules and booking conditions may change, confirm both before your visit.
