Jordan Station combines cultural history with specific nature and boating offerings. The grounds of the Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre are directly connected to the Twenty Valley Trail; in the Louth Conservation Area, a trail leads through Escarpment forest to two waterfalls. This gives you a choice of different ways to plan your visit: the museum and historic buildings, hiking trails, or the marina, which caters to boaters.

Museum Spaces and Local History

The Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre has several gallery spaces for temporary and permanent exhibitions. A multipurpose room is used for public programs and events; individual programs may vary. The Fry Family House is a two-story log house built around 1815. The Fry House is a rare surviving example of Pennsylvania German traditional architecture in Canada. Both houses can be visited each year from June to August with a costumed interpreter or as part of a private tour. Check current dates before your visit.

The Jordan Schoolhouse, also known as School Section #4 (S.S. #4), was a one-room schoolhouse for Jordan’s children for nearly 90 years. It was restored to reflect a typical classroom from 1908. The Schoolhouse can also be visited each year from June to August with a costumed interpreter or as part of a private tour; check current dates in advance. The Haines Cemetery is also located on the museum grounds. It contains the graves of Loyalist settlers and their families, who came to Jordan between 1880 and 1900.

Escarpment, Gardens, and Hiking Trails

The museum grounds border the Niagara Escarpment. Outdoor areas include a garden with native species and pollinator plants, as well as an outdoor classroom for nature-based learning and seasonal programs. The direct connection to the Twenty Valley Trail offers a clear opportunity for hiking without the need to plan a longer excursion. In the Louth Conservation Area, the protected area preserves part of the Niagara Escarpment and provides access to the Bruce Trail. The trail there runs through the Escarpment’s forest landscape and features two impressive waterfalls. The two trail connections are distinct: the Twenty Valley Trail on the museum grounds and the Bruce Trail in the Louth Conservation Area.

Nearby is Sho’aríshon Park, which commemorates the history of the Neutral Nation (Attawandaron), the first known inhabitants of what is now Lincoln. West of the Lincoln Museum and Cultural Centre is Ellis Property, a protected 23-hectare landscape. These places add further aspects of regional history and landscape to the cultural and hiking themes, without being the same as the facilities on the museum grounds.

Boating Plans at Jordan Harbour Marina

For a trip by boat, Jordan Harbour Marina offers a double-width launching ramp. Boats can anchor over a sandy bottom in the basin. Facilities include washrooms, showers, and laundry; gasoline, diesel fuel, and a sewage pump-out facility are also available. Confirm current conditions for the launching ramp and the availability of the listed facilities before your trip. This lets you plan your boating around specific marina offerings, while museum visits and hikes provide their own focal points for your stay.
