The figures are not directly comparable: for Valentina, the number of rooms and beds is given, while for Bratovchedite, the number of separate rooms is given. Nature and trails

Vikanata Skala is a protected natural landmark within Bulgarka Nature Park. The 1,000-metre-high rock formation offers panoramic views towards the Predbalkan and the Danube Plain. A well-marked trail leads from there to Bedeck Peak. Markings and conditions may change; check them locally before hiking.

The Bozhentsi–Dryanovo Monastery Ecotrail starts at the Bozhentsi car park and connects to tourist routes to Gabrovo, Tryavna and Sechen Kamak. It is of moderate difficulty and suitable for hiking and cycling, as well as for children without any special equipment. Access points, markings and trail conditions may change; check them locally before setting off.

The trail destinations are clearly distinct: the path at Vikanata Skala leads to Bedeck Peak, while the Ecotrail starts in Bozhentsi and connects to other tourist routes. These details provide different reference points for choosing a nature outing, without prescribing a particular order or combination.

Culture in Tryavna

Tryavna’s old town preserves Revival-era architecture and active traditional craft workshops. The Museum of the Tryavna Icon-Painting School is unique in Bulgaria and preserves 160 icons by painters from six prominent families. The collection thus offers a specific focus within the local artistic and craft tradition.

The Daskalova House is one of Tryavna’s most important sites associated with woodcarving. It preserves carved sun-shaped ceilings, created as the result of a competition between a master and apprentice in 1808. Icon painting and woodcarving therefore offer distinct cultural highlights: a collection of icons on the one hand, and a renowned example of carved ceilings on the other.

Transport in Tryavna

Tryavna has bus and rail connections. The railway is on the Ruse–Gorna Oryahovitsa–Stara Zagora–Plovdiv line. Check the timetables for your specific travel date. You can also distinguish between interests when planning your stay: the trails and Vikanata Skala represent nature, while the old town, icon museum and Daskalova House make up the cultural side.
