Zarewa Liwada offers several ways to shape your stay: the community cultural center, a municipal cycling route, the Trevnenska River and day trips along eco-trails. When choosing where to stay, you can consider whether you would like to focus mainly on culture, outdoor activities or nearby destinations. Details about the town and its accommodation options can help you match these interests with specific opportunities.

Culture and Local History

The community cultural center dates back to 1924. Its renewal in 1928 is associated with the name Bacho Kiro. The center supports local folk singing and traditional performance groups, including Tsarevolivadski Napevi, Strinava, Asenevche and Kuklite. The customs of Babin Den, Trifon Zarezan and Lazaraki are also kept alive there. Music, dance and traditions thus form a distinct focus alongside outdoor activities. Groups and their activities may change; check in advance if you would like to plan your trip around a particular group.

The railway also forms part of the town’s character: the station and railway line to Gabrovo opened on January 29, 1912. Zarewa Liwada is considered a railway junction. The town is about 5 km from Dryanovo, 17 km from Gabrovo and 8 km from Tryavna; these distances provide a general sense of the area.

Cycling Route, River and Excursions

Municipal cycling route 1 is listed as a 10-kilometer route. It runs from Dryanovo through Zarewa Liwada and Docha to the Strinava Plateau and Dryanovo Monastery. This is a defined cycling route connecting several named places. Check local route conditions before setting out. ATV rides are also offered locally. The Trevnenska River flows through Zarewa Liwada and is considered a waterway with fishing opportunities.

Strinava Fortress can be visited from Zarewa Liwada on a day trip along an eco-trail. Dryanovo Monastery and Bacho Kiro Cave are also nearby; these destinations can likewise be visited from Zarewa Liwada on a day trip along an eco-trail. Check local access conditions and also ask about visitor regulations at the cave. These eco-trail excursions lead to destinations other than those on the designated cycling route.

Tsareva Livada Stadium has an artificial-turf playing field and 815 seats. It adds a specific sporting feature to the town’s cultural and nature-related attractions.
