Rodeio Bonito combines a distinctive river landscape with Gaucho traditions and local history. The Gruta Nossa Senhora de Lurdes is considered its main attraction: it is set in a natural landscape with native forest and a waterfall. The site includes an altar, benches, barbecue areas, and restrooms; these facilities make events and regular use possible. The grotto is also visited during religious celebrations and for relaxation and enjoying nature. Check the condition of the site before your visit.

River Landscapes and Nature

The Rio da Várzea is one of Rodeio Bonito’s most important natural attractions and marks the municipal boundary with Liberato Salzano. Its significance extends beyond the landscape: the Kaingang lived along its banks in the mid-19th century; later, the village that became Rodeio Bonito was founded there. The Ponte da Integração opened in 2019, connects Rodeio Bonito with Liberato Salzano, and offers views of the Rio da Várzea. Praia Interiorana do Carlinhos also provides direct access to the Rio da Várzea and native forest.

Gaucho Traditions and Events

CTG Gaudérios do Rodeio is considered the largest CTG in the region and is an important venue for regional events. It houses a museum with exhibits about the region’s Gaucho cultural traditions. The venue thus brings together event facilities and an insight into Gaucho traditions.

For Rodeio Bonito’s Semana Farroupilha, the 29th edition of the Acampamento Farroupilha was held near CTG Gaudérios do Rodeio. A notice dated September 16, 2025, mentions a traditional Costelão lunch as part of the program. Casa Velha is another event venue: it mainly hosts shows featuring Sertanejo and other pop music, as well as DJs from the region. If you plan to attend a specific event, check the dates in advance.

Local History, Churches, and Museums

Monumento Força Cooperativa stands in Praça Gildo Possamai, in the center of Rodeio Bonito. It honors the community’s pioneering spirit in introducing the cooperative movement. The renovated square includes benches, pavilions, and a small stage. Check its current condition before your visit.

The churches also showcase different construction methods: Igreja Santa Bárbara is a historic wooden church in Linha Santa Bárbara. Igreja São Pedro do Bocó, in São Pedro do Bocó, is a historic stone church. Wood and stone offer a tangible comparison within the area’s religious heritage.

The Museu Público Municipal focuses on the history of the municipality. It preserves documents, photographs, machinery, and equipment, offers permanent exhibitions, and supports research by student groups and communities. Unlike the museum at the CTG, with its exhibits on Gaucho traditions, this museum centers on the local collection. Centro Cultural de Rodeio Bonito is intended to become a cultural venue and house the Biblioteca Municipal Fábio Ardenghi and Museu Municipal de Rodeio Bonito.
