The Herzegovina Wine Route passes through Trebinje; cultural monuments, cycling routes and the Trebišnjica provide further points of reference when considering the city for a stay. If you are looking for a hotel in Trebinje, you can start by thinking about which of these interests you want to shape your stay. The destinations also differ in their distance from the centre and in the visiting conditions to bear in mind.
Wine Route and cycling
The Herzegovina Wine Route runs through Trebinje. Individual wineries and their access conditions may change; check in advance if you are planning a visit.
Around Trebinje, mountain bike routes follow Austro-Hungarian roads and lead to the ancient sites of Strač, Golo Brdo and Petrina. Another cycling connection is the former Ćiro narrow-gauge railway: a project to revitalise it made Trebinje part of a regional cycling network. Both routes along historic roads and the regional network are therefore among the city’s cycling attractions.

The bridge is 1.2 km from the centre and can be reached on foot. Hercegovačka Gračanica is 2.6 km from the centre and is also within walking distance. The different distances offer a concrete comparison of the two destinations in relation to the centre.
Tvrdoš Monastery is further away: it lies 5 km west of Trebinje on the right bank of the Trebišnjica. It was built on the foundations of a 4th-century church. Today, it is one of the oldest cultural and historical monuments in Republika Srpska. Check the access conditions before your visit.
