Laminci Sređani combines an active hub at Jezero Laminci with a layered local history. The lake, circular route and tennis courts offer various ways to stay active; archaeological sites, a monument and a birth house reveal other aspects of the area. You can therefore plan your stay around the water or focus on cultural history. For overnight accommodation, the Prenoćište “Jezero” guesthouse is listed within the Jezero Laminci tourist complex.

Jezero Laminci: lake, circular route and sport

The Jezero Laminci sports and leisure complex includes an artificial lake for swimming and sport fishing. A one-kilometre path runs around the lake and is suitable for running, walking and cycling. This lets you plan activities on the water and a circuit around the lake as separate highlights. If you plan to use the path, check its current condition before your visit; you should also confirm access to the lake in advance.

The complex also has two tennis courts, which visitors can rent by the hour. This adds another sporting option to the lake and path activities. If you plan to play tennis, it is a good idea to check current rental availability in advance. The lake, circuit and courts are different elements of a stay, not a set sequence of activities.

Accommodation at the Jezero Laminci complex

The Prenoćište “Jezero” guesthouse is part of the Jezero Laminci tourist complex. An entry recorded by a tourism organisation in 2025 lists six rooms and a total of 16 beds. This capacity figure gives an indication of the size of the accommodation; check current availability before booking.

Fortifications and settlement history

A fortress stood at Cintor, also known as Fox Hill, in Roman times. In the Middle Ages, Livač or Levač Castle was built on its foundations. The historical connection lies in the sequence of the two fortification phases: the medieval castle was built on the foundations of the Roman fortress.

Baćin represents a different medieval form of fortification. It is a Gradište, meaning a fortified rampart complex protected by two ramparts. The comparison is between the sequence of a Roman fortress and medieval castle at Cintor, and the rampart complex with its two ramparts at Baćin.

The Ivaštani field also extends the historical perspective. There was a pre-Roman settlement there that continued to exist in Roman times. This brings evidence of early settlement into view alongside fortifications: Ivaštani represents a settlement spanning two eras, while Cintor and Baćin reflect different aspects of fortification.

Church, monument and birth house

The Church of the Holy Prophet Elijah stands at Cintor. Laminci Sređani is also home to a monument to fallen Partisan fighters and victims of fascist terror from 1941 to 1945. Its commemorative scope also includes the villages of Laminci Brezici, Laminci Dubrave, Laminci Sređani and Laminci Jaružani.

The birth house of Prote Subotić is another point of cultural-historical interest. Prote Dusan Subotic (1884–1941), a prominent figure of the Burgenland Enlightenment, was born there. The house is also considered an example of the rural landscape of the late 19th century. Subotic’s biography is thus connected with the house’s place in the history of the landscape.
