Schwoich lies on a sunny plateau surrounded by expansive meadows and forests. When looking for a hotel in Schwoich, your planned activities can be a good starting point: cross-country skiing routes, hikes of varying lengths, Banana Lake and a culinary demonstration business offer different experiences. Those who mainly want to hike will find routes with clearly named starting points and specific duration estimates.

Cross-country skiing: two routes starting at the football pitch

The SC1 Stöffl Loop is an easy, 2.5-kilometre cross-country skiing route for beginners. It starts and ends at the Schwoich football pitch. The equally easy SC2 Village Loop is 2.4 kilometres long and flat. It runs through narrow fields in the centre of Schwoich and has the same starting and finishing point. The two routes differ by just 100 metres, but offer different highlights: the SC1 is explicitly described as suitable for beginners, while the SC2 focuses on its flat terrain and route through the fields. So the small difference in distance is not the only factor to consider when choosing between them. Seasonal trail conditions may vary; check them before setting out.

Hiking by duration and starting point

Schwoich lies on the fifth daily stage of the EUREGIO Marien-Weg M1. This stage is 21.3 kilometres long, includes 485 metres of elevation gain and takes five hours. This provides a different time commitment from the hike to Widschwendtalm, which is estimated to take about two hours. The distance, elevation gain and duration help you gauge the scope of the Marien-Weg stage. Route conditions may change; check the latest information in advance.

The Walleralm Circular Tour starts and ends at the Egerbach bus stop. From Kufstein, Regiobus 4902 goes to the Schwoich Egerbach stop, the starting point of the tour. The bus arrival point and the start of the tour are therefore the same place. If you plan to use this connection, check the timetable for your travel date.

The hike to Widschwendtalm starts in the village centre of Schwoich and takes about two hours. At the alpine pasture stands a Königslinde (royal lime tree) that is around 200 years old. Starting in the village centre and finishing at the alpine pasture gives the hike a clear route; bear in mind that the walking time is an estimate.

Banana Lake and e-bike station

Banana Lake is Tyrol’s first biotope swimming lake and a biotope fed by crystal-clear drinking water. The e-bike station in Schwoich is located right by the lake. It has four lockers, each with two power sockets. The lake and station offer two different points of interest for planning: the distinctive character of the water and the e-bike station’s specifically quantified facilities.

Chapel and local culinary connections

Locherer Chapel lies in the vicinity of Schwoich and can be reached on foot from Egerbach in about 20 minutes. It stands at the highest point of the old packhorse and cart track from Kufstein to Haberg via Eiberg. The walking time and historic route each offer a different way to put this destination into context.

Feichtner Distillery is also one of the Kufsteinerland’s culinary demonstration businesses in Schwoich. Culinary experiences thus complement the village’s landscape and hiking opportunities.
