Furth combines architectural history, regional food and drink experiences, and craftsmanship, offering several ways to shape your stay. When choosing the destination, you can decide what to focus on: heritage conservation and ceramics appeal to culture enthusiasts, while guided tastings put pumpkin seed products and vinegar in the spotlight. There is also Schilcher wine from the region, an exhibition featuring products from regional exhibitors, and a seasonal event before Easter. You can therefore decide in advance whether to explore individual topics in greater depth or bring together different aspects of regional culture.

Heritage Conservation and Craftsmanship

The former manor house at Furth 11 and the Baderhaus with wayside shrine at Furth 14 give architectural history a specific local connection. The Federal Monuments Authority’s list dated 30 June 2025 records both as protected by official order; it also notes that the list is not legally binding.

Bad Gams ceramics also have a specific connection to Furth: at Furth 8, a master potter continues the craft after training at the previous business. At the Rural Crafts exhibition, more than 35 people from the region display their products. The two offerings have different emphases: one focuses on the continuation of a particular craft, the other on the variety of regional exhibitors.

Tastings and Regional Produce

A visit to the Farmers’ Oil Press includes an expert-guided tour, a welcome drink, and tastings of Styrian pumpkin seed oil and crunchy pumpkin seeds in more than 40 different flavours. During a tour of the vinegar cellar, visitors also receive expert explanations and taste more than 80 varieties of vinegar. The focuses are clearly distinct: pumpkin seed products on one side and vinegars on the other. This makes it easier to choose if you want to learn more about a particular regional product during a tasting.

The Bad Gams Schilcher Cellar offers Schilcher wines from 20 winegrowers in the region. Visitors can taste and buy Schilcher wines made in different styles. This adds another food and drink highlight to the guided tastings of pumpkin seed products and vinegar: locally produced wine, with the opportunity to sample different styles.

Season and Getting There

The Bad Gams Easter Exhibition has been held for many years before Easter. If you want to plan your trip around this event, check the date for the relevant year before setting your travel dates.

To reach the Farmer-Rabensteiner world of culinary delights and experiences, take S-Bahn S6 to Frauental-Bad Gams station, then RegioBus 760 to the Bad Gams Gh Picker stop. Check the timetables for your travel date if you want to use this connection. The Schilcherkellerweg Bad Gams to Furth also provides another route. This gives you both a specifically named public transport connection to a food and drink destination and a named route to Furth to help with your planning.
