A 16.20-kilometre long-distance hiking trail and an easy 6.7-kilometre castle hike offer two different options for planning a route in Krumpendorf. There is also a range of activities to choose from at the Parkbad: from swimming and games to rental options and seasonal classes. Culture and a regularly held summer market add to the possible highlights of a stay.

Water and exercise at the Parkbad

Krumpendorf Parkbad has large sunbathing lawns shaded by mature trees. The facilities also include a bocce court, a beach volleyball court, a swimming island, a water trampoline, a water volleyball court, a diving tower and table tennis. For swimming, there are 100-metre swimming lanes in the lake, as well as a children’s area and a non-swimmer area; there is also a playground. Free Wi-Fi and accessibility are other features of the Parkbad.

The SEEsport water sports school at the Parkbad rents out SUPs, kayaks, pedal boats and E-Boats Deluxe. Those who want to get out on the water can choose from these four different types of boats and boards. For the 2026 season, the Parkbad also offers yoga, archery and aqua aerobics classes with professional instructors. Programme details may change from season to season.

Two hikes of different lengths

The Krumpendorf long-distance hiking trail is 16.20 kilometres long and returns to its starting point at the Parkbad. From there, the route heads towards Leinsdorf, through the forest to the West viewpoint and on to the 663-metre-high Pirkerkogel. It then continues via Wirtnigteich, Nußberg and Görtschach back to the start. The named waypoints and elevation help you follow the longer loop. Trail conditions may change; check them before setting out.

The easy castle hike is considerably shorter at 6.7 kilometres; it is listed as taking 150 minutes. It starts at the tourist information office and follows the Höhenweg to the Suezecke viewpoint, then continues to Hornstein Castle and Drasing Castle. The Almweg and Lannerweg lead back to Krumpendorf. Along the main road, the route passes Krumpendorf Castle. This loop differs not only in its shorter distance, but also in its combination of viewpoints and castles.

Mountain bike loop and natural landmarks

The Krumpendorf Panorama Loop is a marked mountain bike circuit starting at the Parkbad. Together with the two hikes of different lengths, it offers another way to tailor your stay to your preferred activity. The starting point and route type are specified here: it begins at the Parkbad and is marked as a loop.

Two glacial potholes are also among Krumpendorf’s natural landmarks: one is in Pritschitz (G5), and the other is in the forest towards Görtschach (I3). The location details distinguish the two sites rather than grouping them together as one stop.

Summer market and culture

The Krumpendorf summer market is held every year from mid-May to the end of August, on Fridays from 5 to 9 p.m., in the area around Rathauswiese and Schlossallee. Seasonal dates may vary, so check the schedule before your trip. The set day of the week and time slot provide a clear guide for planning a Friday visit during this period.

KulturKlima Krumpendorf offers visitors concerts in a range of musical genres. The cultural programme also includes theatre, film screenings and exhibitions. Alongside the water-based activities and routes, visitors can choose from a variety of cultural events.
