For Concordia, it is worth distinguishing between places in the city and nearby destinations: the museums and Parque San Carlos are in Concordia, while the hot springs are near Lago de Salto Grande. Puerto Yeruá adds its own local history and occasional dated events to the picture of the destination. This makes it easier to decide whether to focus on culture in the city, gallery forest and birdwatching, or a stay at the hot springs.

Culture and Nature in Concordia

The Museo de AntropologĂa y Ciencias Naturales pursues educational and cultural goals. Its mission includes safeguarding, preserving and promoting the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Concordia and the region. The Museo HistĂłrico Militar Coronel Leopoldo Ornstein has a more specific focus: it is dedicated to the history of the Cuerpo de Blandengues de la Frontera de Buenos Aires and displays items and materials from this military unit.

In Parque San Carlos, paths wind through gallery forest where visitors can watch birds. Nature observation and a range of historical themes therefore offer distinct focuses for a stay in Concordia.

Puerto Yeruá: Local History and Events

The Parroquia San Isidro Labrador in Puerto Yeruá is distinguished by its characteristic stone façade. During a municipal excursion for International Tourism Day in 2023, visitors went to the parish church and the Museo Costumbrista. The history of the area also includes Colonia Yeruá and its port, founded in 1888.

Events also offer a range of different highlights. At the opening of the 2025 summer season in December 2024, Puerto Yeruá hosted sports demonstrations, dance performances and music shows. In 2022, more than 160 participants from different parts of the country rode a 11-kilometer course with five timed laps and three promotional laps in the Puerto Yeruá Mountain Bike Rally. In 2025, Puerto Yeruá was the destination for a new edition of the open-water swimming competition linking the town with Concordia; the announced edition was to feature distances of 21 and 11 kilometers. If an event date is important for your trip, check the latest dates in advance.

Hot Springs at Lago de Salto Grande

The Termas del Ayuí are located near Concordia, on Lago de Salto Grande and close to the border with Uruguay. They have seven indoor pools with different temperatures, ranging from 37 to 43 °C, and varying water depths for adults and children. A water park is surrounded by natural woodland of pine and eucalyptus trees. Check current operating conditions before your visit.

The Termas de Punta Viracho offer a different connection to the lake: two pools are just a few meters from a pebble beach, while sailboats and motorboats pass close to the pools. Various water sports are practiced in the area year-round. The site also includes a designated campground with space for tents and motorhomes. Check current availability before your trip.

Getting There and Finding Your Way

Aeródromo Comodoro Pierrestegui is located in the city of Concordia. If you are considering flying, check current connections before making plans. By road, Puente Represa Hidroeléctrica Salto Grande connects Concordia and Salto. These two details offer different reference points for getting there without replacing the cultural and scenic stops that make up the destination.
