Laax offers very different focuses for planning a trip: an extensive winter sports area and discoveries around the lake, village and local culture. Which side takes centre stage depends on the season and your own interests.

Winter sports and mountain trails

The LAAX winter sports area extends from 1,100 m above sea level to the Vorab Glacier at 3,018 m above sea level. It offers 216 kilometres of slopes and 30 lift facilities. Five snow parks and a Pro Kicker Line add to the winter sports options. If you want to take specific park facilities into account when planning your trip, check the information for the relevant season: the mix of facilities can change from one season to the next.

Mountain biking guests can also choose from different trail profiles. The Segnes Trail is a 3.7 km technical enduro singletrack of intermediate difficulty, with 486 m of elevation difference. At 7 km, the Never End Trail is longer and described as a technically challenging freeride route from Crap Sogn Gion to Laax. The length and difficulty provide concrete points of comparison when choosing a trail.

Around Lake Laax

A walking path about 1.4 km long loops around Lake Laax in Laax Dorf and is easy to navigate with a pushchair or wheelchair. On warm days, the shore offers a natural place to play and swim. In July and August, Kiosk Marenda rents pedal boats and stand-up paddleboards during the season. These rentals are seasonal, so if you are planning to use them, check availability for your travel dates.

Aua Grava offers another year-round option for water-based fun. It has facilities for swimming, wellness and fitness training all under one roof. Alongside activities at the lake, this gives you options for a range of interests without depending on the same season.

Trails, village history and culture

The 1.56 km-long Senda dil Dragun treetop walk connects the districts of Laax Murschetg and Laax Dorf. Its features include a slide, five discovery stations, four platforms with seating and five marble-run installations. You can consider the trail not only in terms of its length, but also the various stops along the way. The Uaul Casti platform also introduces the plants and trees of Laax Forest and explains how the character of the forest changes over just a few kilometres.

Those interested in village history will find a different focus at the Laax Local History Museum. Formerly the village dairy, the museum opened in 1980. The building dates from the 19th century and served as the village dairy until 1969. The museum shows the furnishings and way of life of a farming family 150 years ago, as well as the slide shows “Laax Then and Now” and “Impressions of the Alpenarena”.

The Baroque parish church Baselgia parochiala Laax also tells the story of the village: it was built between 1675 and 1678 and consecrated on 17 October 1677 to the Holy Trinity, the Madonna, and Saints Gallus and Othmar. Well-preserved patrician houses bear witness to the prosperity of the residents. For a walk around the village, the Senda Cultura Laax loops around the area and uses information panels to explain objects of particular significance.
