Pragg-Jenaz is part of the municipality of Jenaz on the Furnerbach; it was formerly called Furna Station. The routes and stages give the village different roles: on a panoramic bike stage, it is the destination in the valley; on a stage between Furna and Jenaz, it is a place along the way.

Crafts and regional specialities

The Vetsch Wool Spinning Mill invites visitors to Pragg-Jenaz to visit its production facility and small factory shop. It makes fleece and yarn from Swiss sheep’s wool. If you would like to learn about the production process, you can plan a guided tour lasting around an hour. Booking in advance is recommended; arrangements may also be necessary for visits to the production facility or shop.

Since 2016, the Prättigau Organic Dairy has been making regional specialities from goat’s, sheep’s and cow’s milk. It offers a 24-hour self-service farm shop. Check the current sales arrangements and availability of the products you want before your visit.

On foot: Fadeuer viewpoint, former Jenazer Bad and castle site

The Furner circular trail 701 starts in Furna, which is accessible from Pragg-Jenaz via a mountain road. The trail includes a short climb to the summit of Fadeuer, a viewpoint with sweeping mountain views. If you plan this hike, allow for the mountain road and check its seasonal conditions.

On the hike to the former Jenazer Bad, a barbecue area and benches invite you to take a break. The return route leads down through Pragmartin to the Furna Station RhB stop. Pragmartin has beautifully decorated old wooden houses with many house sayings. The two hikes have different highlights: the short climb to the summit and mountain views are central to the Furner circular trail, while the route to Jenazer Bad focuses on the place to rest and the return via Pragmartin.

The Castlins castle site, also known as Carschlis, lies above Pragg-Jenaz to the west, at the entrance to the deeply cut Furner gorge. Access is via the Furna road through Pragg-Jenaz; from there, a path about 150 metres long leads directly to the neck ditch. As trail conditions can change, check them before your visit.

Cycling stages with different roles

The second stage of Panorama Bike is rated difficult and is 33 kilometres long. After a rapid descent from the high-altitude route, it ends in the valley at Pragg-Jenaz. By contrast, the third stage of GraubĂĽnden Bike passes through Pragg-Jenaz between Furna and Jenaz.

On route Danusa 278, the climb to Furna begins shortly after the village of Pragg-Jenaz. One section runs along the Landquart before the route becomes a narrow single track. These are different planning details: for Panorama Bike, the distance and difficulty are specified; for Danusa, the location of the climb, the riverside section and the transition to the trail are the main points. Seasonal conditions can affect whether the cycling routes are usable; check the latest conditions before setting out.
