Torpshammar offers a range of reasons to stay: Boda Borg Torpshammar is an indoor adventure for groups, the S:t Olavsleden passes through the village, and parts of the older industrial buildings of Torpshammars Bruk remain by the GimĂĄn. There is also the river landscape along the Ljungan, places by the water and Torpshammars kyrka. When planning your visit, you can choose to focus on shared activities, trails, scenery or local history.

Solve puzzles together at Boda Borg

Boda Borg Torpshammar offers 22 unique quests. Teamwork and problem-solving are at the heart of the experience and are put to the test in the challenges. The indoor format and group challenges make Boda Borg a clearly defined reason to visit together—unlike a stay focused mainly on trails or local history.

Boda Borg is open from April through November. Day passes must be booked no later than the day before; otherwise, you should email to ask about opening. Check the opening period and booking policy before your trip so you can take these requirements into account when planning.

River landscape and places by the water

Camp Mid Adventure in Torpshammar is situated on a pine ridge beside the calm waters of the Ljungan and is surrounded by the high mountains of Ljungandalen. The pine ridge, river and mountain surroundings are the defining features of its setting. Camp Mid Adventure offers water sports on the Ljungan.

There are flower beds and a rest area by the Gimån. The Backetjärn bathing area is managed by Mid Adventure. There are therefore different ways to enjoy the water: a rest area with flower beds by the Gimån, a managed bathing area at Backetjärn and water sports on the Ljungan. When planning, it is helpful to consider each place and offering in its own context.

Trails and getting your bearings

The S:t Olavsleden passes through Torpshammar. There is a separate map entry for the section in Torpshammar, so you can locate this part of the trail on the map. The Torpshammar stor promenadslinga is another named trail. Parking is available for it at IP; you can reach it by train to the station, or by buses that stop at several places along Torpshammarvägen.

The two trail references answer different planning questions: the map entry helps you find the section of the S:t Olavsleden in Torpshammar, while parking and access by train or bus are useful points of reference for the promenadslinga. This gives you different information to help choose between the trails without having to assume a walking time or route length.

Industrial history and the church

Torpshammars Bruk originated as an ironworks, which was approved in 1797 at the point where the Gimån flows into the Ljungan, in Ånge Municipality. Parts of the older industrial buildings of Torpshammars Bruk remain today on the eastern bank of the Gimån. The approval marks the historic origins of the works; the surviving buildings offer another connection to the village’s industrial history.

Torpshammars kyrka offers a different historical perspective: the small stone church was built in 1938. Together, the ironworks and its surviving buildings on the one hand, and the church on the other, offer different ways to explore Torpshammar’s history.
