Rönninge can be explored through specific travel interests: the Rönninge Swimrun, art at various locations in the centre, and the lakeside scenery in the surrounding area. The Swimrun starts and finishes at Toredalsvägen 15, by the Bubblan multisport facility. There are also three courses of different lengths. When choosing the town for a trip, you can therefore distinguish between sporting, cultural and scenic interests.

Rönninge Swimrun: three courses to choose from

The Rönninge Swimrun has a red, a green and a yellow course. They are approximately 2.1, 4.3 and 6.0 kilometres long, respectively. Red is therefore the shortest option and yellow the longest; green falls in between. These figures make it possible to compare the course distances directly. The start and finish point at the Bubblan multisport facility also gives the event a specific connection to the town. When planning your trip, you can decide whether the Swimrun itself will shape your stay or whether other aspects of Rönninge will take centre stage.

Art at the station, roundabout and residential building

The artworks in Rönninge differ both in their materials and in their locations. The station houses the sculptural installation “Handen som gör honnör,” made of painted wood veneer. “Mina paradisfåglar” stands at the roundabout in the centre. Linda Shamma created the work in 2017 from sheet metal and glass. “Lotusblomman,” by contrast, is a mosaic on the brick wall of a residential building in the heart of the centre. It is also a greeting to the water lilies in nearby Lake Flaten. The artworks can thus be found at locations ranging from the station and the central roundabout to a residential building in the town centre. The different materials—wood veneer, sheet metal, glass and mosaic—also make the works easy to distinguish by their design.

Garnudden and Möllebadet on Lake Uttran

The Garnudden nature reserve lies on Lake Uttran, in the area surrounding Rönninge. Reeds, cliffs and lakeside woodland define the area. It is also home to the foundations of the former Torps Garnudden, a historical trace amid the lakeside scenery. Garnudden is accessible from Rönninge by car, bicycle or on foot. A walking and cycling path runs from Rönninge along the shore of Lake Uttran, through the nature reserve and on to Möllebadet. The bathing area is in Uttran, not in Rönninge itself. It is Salem Municipality’s only public bathing area and has jetties and a bathing ramp. This distinction is useful for getting your bearings: Garnudden offers nature and the foundations of the former Torp, while Möllebadet is a bathing area in Uttran.

Choose the right focus for your stay

There are other points of interest within Rönninge, too. Skönviksparken is close to the centre and complements the central art locations with a park in this part of town. When looking for a hotel in Rönninge, it therefore makes sense to first decide what brings you on your trip: swimrun and art are rooted in the town, Garnudden is in the surrounding area, and Möllebadet is in Uttran. Art lovers will find works at various locations in the centre; for lakeside scenery and a bathing area, Uttran is the key destination.
