A sculpture trail runs through Svalöv from the lake in the north to Felestad in the south and can be explored on foot. There is also public art in various locations, a long-established cinema and direct train connections in two directions. This gives Svalöv a range of starting points for a stay focused on art, culture and local history.

Sculpture and Public Art

The sculpture trail runs through the town to Felestad in the south. Svalövs skulpturpark is located in the existing green space by Svalövssjön. In total, there are 44 public sculptures at various locations in Svalövs tätort. The trail and the artworks spread throughout the town provide different points of reference for exploring public art.

One notable work is Veteväggen. The 40 × 7 metre mural was painted on the wall of Kvarnhuset facing the railway tracks, the wall of Tryckhallen. It was created to depict the villages, history and residents of Svalöv Municipality. Children, young people, adults and retirees helped create it together with artists from the association. The wall thus combines a large-scale image with themes from the municipality.

Cinema, Church and Educational History

Kulturhuset in Svalöv is a long-established cinema that screens new films. Svalövs filmstudio also offers its own way to experience film: members can watch films together with other film enthusiasts. Membership is required. Fridhems folkhögskola in Svalöv also has a theatre programme.

The history of architecture and education also offers specific dates to mark. Svalövs kyrka was built in 1877 south of the medieval church site. Svalöfs gymnasium began in 1899 as Svalövs lantmannaskola, as part of Fridhems folkhögskola in Svalöv. A new agricultural school building was inaugurated in 1921. These dates provide a historical context for a place whose cultural themes range from church architecture to educational institutions.

Rail and Getting Around Town

From Svalöv, the Söderåsbanan provides direct train connections south to Malmö and north to Åstorp. The two directions are easy to distinguish when planning: Malmö can be reached via the southern connection, and Åstorp via the northern one. Aktivitetshuset Kvarnen is centrally located in Svalöv, right next to the station, making it a prominent landmark for finding your way around town.

Aktivitetshuset Kvarnen includes, among other things, conference rooms, a reading corner, a makerspace, a room for creative activities and a small café. Some visitor information is available in the foyer of Svalöv Town Hall. Svalöv Library is part of the Familjen Helsingborg library partnership. With a library card from Svalöv Library, you can access the shared collections of 55 libraries in 11 municipalities.

Activities and Landscape

Svalöv has an exercise and walking trail on Ängabäcksvägen. On Linåkravägen, there is an activity park with a skateboard ramp, pump track, Teqball and an outdoor fitness area. If you plan to visit any of these facilities, check local conditions before your visit.

Those who want to explore beyond the town can visit Svenstorps fälad, northeast of Svalöv. The area is 2.5 kilometres from Svalöv and consists mainly of pastureland with traces of earlier settlements. The combination of local art, cultural attractions and this landscape offers a range of themes for planning a trip without combining them into a single walking tour.
