The Anneberg station community is one of three adjoining areas of cultural and historical value in the Anneberg–Älvsåker area. Two different perspectives can help you find your way around: buildings and villas from the station era, and today’s routes and rail connections. When looking for a holiday rental in Anneberg, these highlights can help you sort out your travel interests: would you mainly like to explore architectural history, use connections to Kungsbacka, or plan a seasonal activity?

Station history and architectural styles

The station community took shape towards the end of the 19th century; the old station house was built at the beginning of the 20th century. These dates mark two different points in time: the development of the settlement and the later construction of the station house. The surviving buildings include a station house, several large villas and the former staff building. The station house is south of Älvsåkersvägen and now houses a gun shop. The former staff building served as rental housing for SJ employees. The villas from the station era generally have symmetrical entrance façades with a central emphasis and rectangular floor plans; their timber cladding is painted light or red. A central emphasis highlights the middle part of the entrance façade. When looking at the villas, you can pay attention to the façade layout and floor plan as well as the colour.

Routes and connections

From Annebergs station, you can make transfers within Kungsbacka’s public transport network. Check routes and timetables before travelling. Walking and cycling paths along Älvsåkersvägen connect the commuter train station with Älvsåkersskolan, the town’s two most important destinations. Another walking and cycling path along Göteborgsvägen connects Anneberg with the town of Kungsbacka. The routes differ in their destinations: one links the station and school, while the other connects Anneberg and Kungsbacka. This can help you work out which connections suit your travel plans.

Landscape and activities

In the eastern part of Anneberg–Älvsåker, the landscape is more hilly and enclosed. The Kungsbackaån is directly east of the Anneberg planning area and is important for recreation; activities there include canoeing and fishing. If you plan to take part in either activity, check access arrangements before your visit, as they may change. The starting point of the route is a 3 km walk from Annebergs station. This distance is given as a walking route and provides a reference point for planning your journey.

Cross-country skiing in winter

In winter, the cross-country ski trail at Rigortorpet in the Älvsåker/Anneberg area is a seasonal activity option. It is 3 km long, and use depends on snow conditions. Before a winter trip, check whether conditions are suitable for cross-country skiing. So, as well as the trail length, snow conditions are the main factor to consider when planning.
