Sandviken combines a diverse cultural offering with cycling routes of varying difficulty. The Kulturcentrum is located in the town centre; art, literature and sound art feature among its offerings. The 40-minute Soundwalk leads through parts of the town’s cultural landscape, while Sandvikens kyrka, whose construction began in 1929 and which was inaugurated in 1931, provides a historical connection. Visitors can therefore choose from a range of activities during their stay: contemporary art, a sound art tour, events or cycling.

Culture, Art and Sound

The Kulturcentrum is a lively cultural centre where visitors can experience and create culture. It is located in the centre of Sandviken. The Kulturcentrum comprises Sandviken’s municipal administration and Folkets Hus, as well as the town library, the culture school, the Konsthallen art gallery, the children’s literature centre Litteraturhuset Trampolin and several external organisations. Konsthallen presents year-round exhibitions of contemporary art in a range of aesthetic forms of expression. Guided tours, workshops and cultural events are offered in connection with all exhibitions; the programme may change.

Soundwalk Sandviken is a permanent sound art installation at the Kulturcentrum. The 40-minute tour leads through parts of the town’s cultural landscape. You can borrow headphones and an MP3 player to listen, or play the tour on your own mobile phone.
