Fuenlabrada offers a variety of things to discover: at Parque Agrario, the peri-urban agricultural landscape takes centre stage, while the Museo de Arte Urbano displays its works on building façades. The town also offers religious heritage, municipal leisure facilities and a programme selling local vegetables. This means you can choose between a walk, urban art and individual cultural or leisure activities during your trip.

Agricultural landscapes and local produce

The Parque Agrario de Fuenlabrada works to preserve and strengthen peri-urban agriculture and its agricultural landscape. You can experience nature and the agricultural landscape on an extensive network of paths and livestock tracks. For a specific outing, there is a 5 km route that takes approximately 60 minutes on foot and is rated easy. This time estimate applies to that route; it does not describe the time needed to explore the entire network.

The “Cómete Fuenlabrada” programme also focuses on agriculture, but as a sales initiative: mobile public locations around the city serve as outlets for freshly harvested local vegetables. These include chard, cauliflower, potatoes and celery. If you are interested in local produce, you can discover it here through specific products, while the Parque Agrario focuses on the landscape and its preservation.

Urban art and heritage

The Museo de Arte Urbano de Fuenlabrada (MAUF) is an open-air museum that uses building façades as canvases for urban art. More than thirty murals are spread throughout Fuenlabrada. The collection is therefore distributed across the town rather than concentrated in a single exhibition space. If you would like to discover the murals on a guided tour, the town council organises a 90-minute tour of the collection on the last Sunday of each month. Check the date if you would like to include the tour in your travel plans.

The local heritage includes the Iglesia de San Esteban, listed as a monument with BIC status proceedings initiated. The protection process was initiated on 5 April 1983. The church features an 18th-century Churrigueresque altarpiece. The Fuente de los Cuatro Caños is also part of the protected heritage and is included in Fuenlabrada’s catalogue of protected assets. The traditional procession of the Santísimo Cristo de la Misericordia takes place annually, begins at the Iglesia de San Esteban Protomártir and is free to attend. Leisure activities and cultural events

The Centro Municipal La Pollina is a municipal green and leisure complex covering almost three hectares, open to the whole community and particularly aimed at children and young people. It hosts environmental, educational, leisure and recreational activities. The Multiaventura park includes a zip line, a climbing wall and hammocks between the trees. Check whether access is currently available before visiting.

At the Centro de Arte Tomás y Valiente (CEART), there is a free family activity on the second Sunday of each month. It begins with a guided tour of the main exhibition, after which participants create artwork themselves. The activity combines a guided look at an exhibition with hands-on creative participation. If you would like to plan your trip around this event, check the details of the relevant edition.
