On the right bank of the Noguera Ribagorçana lies Parc del Riu, a green space covering more than 30,000 m². The park is 50 metres from the centre of Corbins. It is a practical starting point for a stay amid riverside scenery: the municipal description mentions peaceful walks and wildlife watching, as well as athletics, fishing and canoeing.

Riverside Scenery and Activities

The Aiguabarreig-Segre Noguera Ribagorçana wetland is part of Catalonia’s PEIN protected natural areas network and the Natura 2000 site ES5130020 Aiguabarreig Segre-Noguera Ribagorçana. It covers the course of the Noguera Ribagorçana downstream from Corbins to its confluence with the Segre. The nearby green space and the wider river area therefore offer different ways to experience nature: Parc del Riu is a clearly identified place for walks and wildlife watching, while the wetland covers a longer stretch of the river.

For mountain biking and trail running, La Serreta de Corbins Bike Park has trails and trial tracks at different difficulty levels. More than 15 kilometres of trail are prepared and signposted, along with more than ten downhill trial tracks. Mountain biking and trail running are possible year-round. The different difficulty levels give you a practical basis for choosing routes to suit your interests and experience.

There is also a restored path from La Serreta to the confluence of the Noguera Ribagorçana and the Segre. The route is about 2.5 kilometres long. As trail conditions can change, check the path before setting out.

Church, History and Archaeological Finds

The parish church of Sant Jaume dates from 1736 and is designed in the Neoclassical style. A relic of Saint Quiteria, the patron saint of Corbins, is kept in the church. El Fossar Vell is a viewpoint overlooking Parc del Riu.

Cal Col·lector stands on the remains of a former Islamic castle, documented since the 10th century. The building preserves underground remains, part of a tower and the remains of a secret tunnel. Cal Col·lector is privately owned. Archaeological finds such as ceramics, coins and votive offerings are permanently exhibited in Corbins. The bridge of Corbins also has a specific historical connection: it was rebuilt in 1933 by the Generalitat de Catalunya.

Festa de la Poma and Getting There

Festa de la Poma takes place on the first weekend of October and celebrates the end of the fruit harvest. It includes a communal Cassola lunch, at which groups prepare their own Cassola. If you want to plan your stay around the festival, check the date for the relevant year before arranging your trip.

Corbins is connected by the C-12 road and has three access roads into the town. Whether Corbins is a good place to stay for your trip depends mainly on whether riverside scenery, outdoor activities, local history or food culture will shape your stay. When choosing a hotel in Corbins, you can first decide whether you want to focus on wildlife watching at Parc del Riu, sports at La Serreta, or culture and festival traditions.
