Playa Son Bou is 2,400 metres long and lies next to the Torre Solí Nou residential area. This already links two different perspectives on the place: a specific beach and an adjoining settlement. There is also the Son Bou wetland, a route through Torre Solí Nou and Torre Solí Vell, and various historical connections. When planning your stay, you can consider the themes of coast, nature, routes and history separately and combine them according to your interests.
Coast and Wetland
At Playa Son Bou, long walks along the shore are possible all year round. Together with its length of 2,400 metres, this describes two different aspects of the coastal offering: a measurable feature of the beach and an activity available year-round.
The Prat de Son Bou is a wetland of around 100 hectares, separated from the sea by a dune belt. This separation highlights the difference from the open shoreline: the coast and wetland are two distinct landscapes. During their migrations, numerous migratory birds visit the wetland. In contrast, walks along the shore are possible year-round; the migratory birds give the nature theme a seasonal dimension.
Routes Between the Settlement and the Beach
The Camí de Torre Solí passes through Torre Solí Nou and Torre Solí Vell. From both settlements, it leads to the beaches of Son Bou and sa Canassia. This identifies both the route through two settlements and several beach destinations. The Camí is a distinct route, separate from walks directly along the shore. If you include it in your plans, check the route conditions locally.
Historical Connections
The cultural connections also differ in terms of location and significance. The Naveta de Torre-solí Nou is protected cultural heritage in Torre Soli Nou. The Basílica Son Bou was built at the end of the 5th century AD. The Naveta’s protected status is the main point of interest, while the basilica is notable for its construction date. You can therefore consider a locally rooted cultural heritage site and a specifically dated building as two different historical points of interest.
Accommodation and Dining
Valentin Son Bou Hotel is located in the Torre Solí Nou residential area; Playa Son Bou lies next to the residential area. These are two separate location references to help orient you: the hotel is associated with the settlement, while the beach is next to the residential area. Es Forn de Torre Soli Nou serves grilled dishes and Mediterranean cuisine. This adds a specific local dining option to the landscape and cultural themes.
