In Buesa, you can include a stage of the GR 15, a hike to the Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Bun and local religious traditions in your travel plans. The routes differ considerably: the walk to the hermitage takes about an hour and involves a steep climb; the descent to Broto follows a traditional path that crosses the road in places.

The GR 15 between the valleys

The Fanlo–Buesa–Broto stage is listed by the Government of Aragón as a Sendero Turístico de Aragón (Aragón Tourist Trail). Heading towards Buesa and Broto, the GR 15 connects the Vió/Ballibió Valley with the Broto Valley. The old trail runs along the right bank of the Barranco Chate and crosses the southern slopes of the sierra, crowned by Punta Trallata or Pueyo Ballarín.

Along the GR 15, the route passes through woodland with beech trees, various deciduous trees, firs, holly, pines and oaks. Near Buesa, the trail also leads to the Bordas de San Esteban, a former settlement, and the Fuente Baño, a medicinal spring that was once very well known and heavily visited. The route thus features both a former settlement and a spring of historical renown as distinct stops.

Hermitage, church and pilgrimage

The Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Bun is a small rectangular building made of sandstone masonry, partly covered with plaster. It lies in an area dotted with bordas. The footpath begins at the end of Barrio de la Iglesia; the hike takes about an hour and involves a steep climb. This information helps distinguish the route to the hermitage from the GR 15 valley connection.

The church in Buesa also offers its own historical and cultural interest: inside, it preserves a Romanesque chrismon and folk paintings. The hermitage is defined by its layout and sandstone, while the church is distinguished by these two features of its interior.

A pilgrimage to the Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Bun takes place on July 2, attended by residents of Buesa and Sarvisé. If you want to plan your trip around this tradition, check the dates in advance.

Water and landscape

In the municipality of Broto, the Barranco El Chate is a waterside destination. From the road, leave your car in a widened section near the “El Chate” holiday centre; then take a path branching off to the right and descending to the river. Check seasonal conditions before your visit.

A description published in July 2025 also mentions a natural pool on the Chate River, hidden among meadows and forests and accessible via an easy bike ride. If you plan to visit, also check local seasonal conditions.
