Las Navas de la Concepción lies entirely within Sierra Norte de Sevilla Natural Park. Two circular hiking trails provide practical points of reference for planning your trip: the PR-A 412 leads from Plaza de España through a gallery forest to the Ribera de Ciudadeja. The Vereda de Constantina–Camino del Túnel is also a circular route and can be used on foot, by bicycle, or on horseback.
Two Circular Routes with Different Highlights
The PR-A 412 – Los Molinos de Ciudadeja circular hiking trail is 10.3 kilometers long and rated easy. The route starts at Plaza de España and leads through a gallery forest to the Ribera de Ciudadeja. Along the way are historic watermills, dams, weirs, and buildings that were used for grinding grain in the past. The route thus combines a specific trail with traces of the area’s milling history.
The Vereda de Constantina–Camino del Túnel measures 9.88 kilometers and is also rated easy. At 10.3 and 9.88 kilometers, the two circular routes are similar in length. You can therefore choose between them based on the highlights described: the PR-A 412 focuses on the gallery forest, the route to the Ribera, and the historic mills; the Vereda is intended for walking, cycling, and horseback riding.
The Vereda’s last maintenance date is listed as June 30, 2015. Check trail conditions before setting out.
More Hiking and Sightseeing Destinations
Toma de la Molineta is an area with hiking trails in Las Navas de la Concepción. As a separate hiking destination, it complements the two circular routes described, without implying a particular trail route. The Ruins of the Armada are among the town’s sights and offer another reason to visit. For those who want to give different weight to outdoor activities and culture when choosing a destination, the area offers both a hiking destination and a named attraction.
March Fair and Gastronomy
A three-day fair devoted to ecotourism and rural traditions takes place every year in March; it has been held since 2005. If visiting the fair is essential to your trip, check the program for the relevant year before setting your travel dates. March is therefore a specific seasonal point of reference, while the two circular routes and Toma de la Molineta appeal to hikers regardless of the date.
The town’s gastronomy also has a specific name: Caldereta de venado. For travelers who want to consider local cuisine alongside hiking trails and sightseeing destinations, it offers a distinct culinary point of reference.
Choose Your Stay Based on the Reason for Your Trip
