On Foot and by Bike
The Grossmannova Hiking Trail starts in front of the thermal spa in Mala Nedelja and follows forest paths through the area, between fields and surrounding settlements. The Biotermalna Cycling Route is a circular route connecting Bioterme with the surrounding villages. Unlike the hiking trail, the cycling route also requires attention to navigation: it is not signposted locally. So check your navigation before setting off.
Church and Cultural Heritage
The Church of the Holy Trinity in Mala Nedelja has pointed Gothic windows in the nave and early Baroque frescoes dating from the beginning of the 17th century. It is protected as a monument of art and architecture. Gothic window forms and early Baroque decoration bring together different art-historical features in one building—a distinctive cultural highlight in the area. A monument to Anton Krempl was also erected near Mala Nedelja in 1895.
Park and Local Offerings
The improvements completed in the park in Mala Nedelja in 2024 include the “Digitalna tabla” (digital information board). It provides visitors with year-round information about the area, the municipality and other tourist offerings. The “Vaška tržnica” (village market), a market area beneath a pergola, is also part of the project. Vendors and associations can present products related to their work or activities there. The park project thus includes both information for visitors and a space for presentations by local vendors and associations.
Events with Dates That May Change
Thematic events are held at the Čitalnica in Mala Nedelja as part of the commemoration of “Beseda,” organized by the school and local associations. Individual dates may vary. “Dober den pri Mali Nedli” was a traditional local event in 2024, with a cultural, sports and entertainment program and participation by local associations. It was also held in 2025. Dates and programs may vary, so if you are planning a specific trip, it is worth checking the date of the event in question.
The traditional Martinovanje celebration organized by the Mala Nedelja Winegrowers’ Association took place in the park on November 9, 2025. The new wine was ceremonially baptized. This specific date belongs to a past edition and does not set a date for a future event.
Thermal Spa and History
Thermal water was discovered in Moravci in the Slovenske gorice in 1958; development of the Bioterme project began there in 2002. These two dates mark different stages: the discovery of the thermal water and the start of development of the complex. The Bioterme complex was developed with outdoor pools, indoor pools and a restaurant.
