Trenčín Castle and its history
Trenčín Castle is a national cultural monument and, together with Spiš and Devín castles, is one of the largest castles in Europe. From the 11th century onwards, it was a royal castle, developed into an important border fortress and later became the seat of the county. The castle houses exhibition rooms and numerous exhibitions of the Trenčín Museum.
The castle rock is also home to an important epigraphic memorial dating from the end of the older Roman Imperial period: a victory inscription commemorating a military victory. Town tower and synagogue

The Trenčín synagogue was built in 1913 to a design by Berlin architect Richard Scheibner. Trails and activities in Brezina Forest Park
Brezina Forest Park is a southwestern extension of the Strážovské vrchy mountains and reaches into the built-up area of Trenčín. Its trails and routes are suitable for walkers, runners and cyclists. Some trails are exclusively for pedestrians, some exclusively for cyclists, and others are shared. The DIVO trails are described separately as narrow forest trails for mountain bikes, with varying levels of difficulty.
Two educational trails offer different lengths and content. The Vznik a vývoj lesa educational trail is 1,500 metres long and has twelve information boards; it can be accessed from the JUH residential area or from Hotel Veverica. At 1,410 metres, the Sever educational trail is slightly shorter. Its seven stops cover the history of Brezina, soils and the plant species that grow there.
For a longer hike, the Titanitka route is another option: it starts at Železák, is seven kilometres long and takes approximately three hours. This time estimate is indicative. The forest park also has nine official fire pits, which visitors are free to use.
Out on the water
A trip on the Dominik offers views of Trenčín and the surrounding area.
