Discover Vyhne through its thermal waters, two circular trails with distinct themes, and its natural and religious sites. When looking for a hotel, it helps to first decide what matters most to you: the Andrej Kmeť nature trail is easy to assess by its length and elevation gain, while the “Two Hours Among the Mining Works” circular trail focuses on mining history. At Vodný raj, the focus is on water attractions and leisure activities.

Nature Trail and Pump Track

The Andrej Kmeť nature trail is a short, self-guided circular walking route. It is 4.9 km long with an elevation gain of 44 m, and can be used in summer and winter. It starts at the Vyhniansky travertine natural monument, near the outdoor swimming pool and volleyball courts, and ends at the SAD ZŤS Vyhne bus stop.

The Vyhne pump track offers another way to get active. Artificially built terrain bumps and banked turns form obstacles for riders to practise on. The track is near Hotel Sitno and the football pitch. Visitors are welcome to ride there; check access before visiting, as it may change.

Thermal Waters and Leisure Activities

The multi-purpose pool at Vodný raj Vyhne is supplied with natural thermal water. At the spring, its temperature is 36.5 to 37 °C. An outdoor pool open year-round has a water temperature of 36 °C and is equipped with hydromassage benches, known as pearl baths, a counter-current system and a jacuzzi. The temperature figures therefore refer to different areas: the water at the spring and the outdoor pool.

Other leisure activities at VodnĂ˝ raj include tennis, volleyball and squash courts, as well as bowling and mini golf. Alongside the water attractions, there are also sports and games. The seasonal information is useful for planning your trip: the nature trail can be used in summer and winter, while the outdoor pool is open year-round.

Nature, Spa and Mining History

The Kamenné more nature reserve is located in Vyhne and is considered a rarity in Central Europe. The Roman Catholic Baroque Church of St. Michael dates back to 1776. The Spa Chapel of Our Lady Queen is another site connected with the history of the spa: it is located directly above Vodný raj Vyhne and once served spa guests.

The “Two Hours Among the Mining Works” circular trail passes through Vyhne and presents the history of mining and its impacts at ten stops. The local historical sites therefore offer different perspectives: the church’s architectural history, the former role of the spa chapel and the impacts of mining.

Two Circular Trails, Two Focuses

If you are choosing between the two circular trails, their different descriptions can help: the Andrej KmeĹĄ nature trail has a specified route profile and is self-guided; the mining trail focuses on mining history and has ten stops. The first can therefore be assessed by its route details, while the second is defined by its theme. Choosing between them is a matter of what you would like to focus on, not a comparison of supposedly identical tours.
