Sielecki Park brings together a historic city park, Sielecki Castle and the course of the Czarna Przemsza: the river flows through the middle of the park, with the castle within its grounds. This place gives Sosnowiec one of its distinctive green and cultural highlights.

Explore Parks and Cycling Routes

Tysiąclecia Park also offers its own distinct focus. This 102-hectare recreational area stretches along the Brynica. In contrast, Sielecki Park’s character as a historic city park is shaped by the castle and the Czarna Przemsza; at Tysiąclecia, it is the large area and the river running alongside the park. This gives you a choice of different park landscapes, each with its own focus for a visit.

There are several cycling routes to explore, each with different landmarks. The Szlak Rowerowy Czarnego Morza is 15 kilometres long and lies entirely within Sosnowiec. The Szlak Rowerowy Lasu Zagórskiego also stays entirely in Sosnowiec and passes through the city districts of Zagórze and Czarne Morze. The Szlak Rowerowy Dawnego Pogranicza is marked in red and also runs entirely within the city. You can choose based on different details: the stated route length, the districts it passes through or its markings.

Water Activities at Stawiki

Stawiki offers several ways to enjoy the water. Wake Zone Stawiki is a water-skiing centre that also caters to wakeboarders. As operating arrangements may change, check them before your visit. The public beach at Stawiki is about 100 metres long and has changing rooms and toilets. Seasonal beach conditions may change, so check in advance.

Check seasonal conditions before your visit. This helps you consider the information on the beach, swimming and water skiing or wakeboarding as different ways to enjoy the water.

Culture and Green Spaces to Explore

At Park im. Jacka Kuronia, a park visit combines two special attractions: a small zoo and concerts. The zoo is home to more than thirty animal species; the species represented may change. Concerts are held in the park’s amphitheatre and organised by Miejski Dom Kultury Kazimierz. These concerts have been held there since 2007. Check the current programme for specific dates.

Sosnowiec also offers a varied cultural scene. Teatr Zagłębia presents theatre performances and artistic events. Sosnowieckie Centrum Sztuki – Zamek Sielecki organises cultural events. The collection “Polskie Szkło Współczesne” is on display at Pałac Schoena Muzeum w Sosnowcu. It illustrates the achievements of Polish glassmaking from the 20th century to the present day. This offers a range of cultural interests, from theatre and artistic events to culture connected with Zamek Sielecki and the history of glass.

Winter Activities at Park Środula

If you’re planning your visit around the seasons, Park Środula offers activities specifically for winter: skiing and snowboarding. Check seasonal availability before your trip. The park’s paths can also be used for mountain biking, Nordic walking, mountainboarding and running. These activities differ distinctly from the winter offerings, so both your preferred activity and the season matter when planning.
