Promenada Park serves as a walking and educational trail, stretching along the Czarna Przemsza. The river’s wet meadows and ponds provide habitats for waterbirds and wetland birds. The park also features an apiary, natural monuments and memorial sites. Nature, education and remembrance thus come together as different aspects of a walk here.

Promenada and Zamkowy: Two Park Landscapes

Zamkowy Park also combines nature and history, but with a different emphasis. It is a historic landscape park, and its old trees are recognized as natural monuments. The park is also home to an underground air-raid shelter dating from the Second World War. Those interested in landscapes and the past will find, alongside the old trees, a tangible trace of wartime history.

The two parks offer different discoveries: at Promenada, the river, wet meadows and ponds shape the natural setting, while Zamkowy brings together old trees and the historic heritage of the air-raid shelter. Together, they give an impression of the variety of ways nature and history feature in Myslowitz.

Museums and Traces of History

The Muzeum Miasta Mysłowice has collections on archaeology, ethnography, 20th-century history, industry and sport. Its wide range of topics offers several ways to explore the city’s history, from glimpses of past ways of life to industry and sport. The museum also displays a reconstruction of the former border at the Trójkąt Trzech Cesarzy.

The Trójkąt Trzech Cesarzy lies at the confluence of the Czarna Przemsza and the Biała Przemsza. Historic national borders once met at this site. A memorial obelisk unveiled there in 2007 commemorates the former division and the reunification of Europe. The museum and the site offer two different perspectives on the subject of borders: a reconstruction in the museum and the historically significant confluence itself.

Another historical trace is the Przewiązka. It connected the buildings of the former emigration station with platform 1 at Mysłowice railway station. For anyone interested in the history of travel and emigration, this link adds a railway connection to the museum and border themes.

The Cardinal August Hlond Mission Museum is located in the basement rooms of the Matki Bożej Bolesnej Church in Brzęczkowice. It preserves objects from Africa, Oceania and South America, including traditional clothing, ritual masks, musical instruments and everyday objects. The collections bring together different regions and types of objects, while the location also leads visitors to the Brzęczkowice district.

If you would like to take a guided tour at the Centralne Muzeum Pożarnictwa, individual visitors and organized groups must register at least three days before their visit. Allow for this lead time when planning, and check the latest visitor information in advance.
