Przyszowice brings together nature and culture in different ways: two named educational trails differ in length and endpoints, the landscape park offers its own distinct feature, and the palace and parish granary reflect the history of the village and its buildings. For planning your trip, a clear comparison can help: would you like to focus on the stream and the route, or are you mainly interested in exploring the exhibitions and historic buildings? The features below show how these priorities differ.

Two educational trails, two route profiles

The 1.6 km-long nature trail “Dolina rzeki Kłodnicy” starts in Przyszowice on ul. Leśna and follows Potok Jasienica to the park in Przyszowice. One of its features is the frequent presence of mammals, including rodents. Check local conditions before setting out.

The 3.4 km-long educational trail “Potok Jasienica” connects the castle in Chudów with the palace in Przyszowice. It is therefore the longer of the two routes, with clearly identified landmarks at each end: the castle and the palace. The shorter route runs from ul. Leśna along the stream to the park; the longer one connects two historic buildings. This distinction is more useful for planning than a general recommendation: you can decide whether the route to the park or the connection between the castle and palace better matches your interests.

The trails also have different themes: the frequent presence of mammals is part of the nature focus of “Dolina rzeki Kłodnicy,” while “Potok Jasienica” centers on the connection between the castle and palace. You can therefore choose not only based on length, but also on whether you are more interested in wildlife or in the link between two buildings.

Landscape park and pedunculate oak

The landscape park by the palace is laid out in the English style and currently covers 9.84 ha. Its style and area describe different features of the grounds: their design and their size. These offer two complementary ways to understand the park: the area of the grounds as a whole and one specific connection with nature. A municipal description published in 2012 identifies a pedunculate oak over 150 years old as the oldest tree in the palace park.

Palace history and everyday life in Silesia

The Izba Regionalna in Przyszowice is located in two rooms on the upper floor of the palace. It features a faithfully recreated Silesian home from 100 years ago and illustrates how a typical Silesian family lived at the beginning of the 20th century. The focus here is on living spaces and everyday life: the display brings the two together to offer a tangible glimpse of domestic culture in Silesia. This cultural perspective differs from that of the educational trails, which are described in terms of their routes and landscape features.

One part of the palace houses an exhibition on the history of the palace and the von Raczek family associated with Przyszowice. Unlike the recreated home, this exhibition focuses on the history of the building and the family connected with the village.

Wooden architecture in Przyszowice

The wooden parish granary is also part of the area’s architectural history: it was built in 1829 and is a stop on the Wooden Architecture Route of the Silesian Voivodeship. This combines an exact construction date with a regional context provided by the route. Along with the palace and park, the granary broadens the cultural perspective beyond the exhibitions to include historic architecture.
